I was wondering what is the difference between the cuts of hay. I have seen 1st cut of timothy hay, 2nd cut of timothy hay. Which is better? I have always bought oxbow timmy hay since the price has gone up I decided to switch to sweet meadow farms hay. I didn’t like it when I first received it but my bunnies like it  they eat as much hay as they did being on oxbow. Plus I get more. Sweet meadow farms sell 1st and 2nd cuts of hay so I was wondering what the difference is? thanks

They are both good. The first cut is more stalky. The second cut is softer and usually a bit greener. Third cut is the softest.

I usually get APD 2nd cut and the KMS 3rd cut when it’s available.
