Remember that he needs to eat normally before the procedure – no fasting like humans do, just the opposite.
Remove any temptations in his habitat and rooms for jumping. You want him on one level for a few days to a week, so no platforms or ramps. When it’s time to bring him home, ask if they are giving you any pain medication to take with you (Metacam) and if not, ask for a small dose and a syringe to feed by mouth. Don’t be alarmed if he only eats a little at first, and wants to sleep. And don’t be alarmed if he becomes frisky sooner than you think, either!
Watch the site for redness, swelling or leaking. Call your vet with ALL your questions – never hesitate. It’s part of the service. And ask any questions of the vet when you’re there, too.
It will go well and you’ll be so glad you did this for him.

If he doesn’t want to drink after surgery but will eat (which is what my male did) wet the greens down really well before serving. And make sure he can get to his water without having to stand too much, since he might be sore.

Good luck, healing vibes to your bun!

Paws crossed that everything goes splendidly. I felt really bad for mine – they were so out of it afterwards – but in a couple of days they were back to there old selves
