Hi Everyone- I was wondering if anyone else has a bunny that loves sitting in front of a fan, even when the room temperature is only about 70 degrees. I have a little lounging spot set up for the bunnies in the living room- I fold up some fuzzy blankets to make it comfy, and recently I got a little dog bed that BunBun really likes. He spends more time there than Nelli- he lays there for hours sometimes, nibbling on hay with the breeze from the fan ruffling up his fur . Now that the weather has cooled down a lot, I worry that the fan is too much for BunBun. But he seems to love it. He sits maybe 12-18 inches away from the fan, which is on the floor. I attach NIC grates to the front of it and put them at a sloping angle to the floor, so they can’t get too close and get an ear caught in the fan blades or anything.

I wonder if it’s the bed that Bun loves so much, or the fan, or both? I just don’t want to have the fan blowing on him all the time if he doesn’t really enjoy it.  In the winter, he sits by the radiator all the time to keep warm- it seems that he has a preference to be very toasty in the winter and very cool in the spring/summer/fall.

Powder flops on top of my A/C vents, so does Stickers. Even if it’s 70 in the house, they’re flopped out on the vents. And Powder has his own little fan too, no bed, just the fan and he loves to sleep in front of it. When the temps drop below 68 both get abandoned, but anything higher than that … they want to stay nice and cool. Stickers isn’t into fans though, she doesn’t like anything messing up her fur.

I have a little fan on the floor and Fievel loves it. I’ve caught him a few times with his front feet on top of it and the wind blows on to his belly. He’ll look around at me like, “what? This feels amazing!” Lol.
You could always take the fan away and put it in a different location that BunBun can easily get to. See where he ends up hanging out more.

Minnie loves fans. She will always go wit in front of it. I leave it on just for her. Both buns used to sit over the air vent when the AC was on. They were blocking air from coming in the room so it got really hot so I had to block them from laying over it. The were mad at me for a while lol.

When the weather got warmer here in WA, I turned on the sunroom fan and Chacha would lay underneath it. My dad said “She’s so smart!”

Both of my buns loved to hang out on top of the air conditioning vent in our old house. Now the A/C comes from the ceiling, so no cool lounging for them.

If the house gets above 75 or 76, we put our AC on. Other then that I much prefer windows open and we put on the attic fan, which is probably the best things my hubby’s grandpa ever did for this old house. It is nice because with a cool breeze and not much humidity the house will maintain 75 or lower even if the temp gets to 80 outside. Every room in the house (heck even the kitchen) has a ceiling fan, EXCEPT the living room, which is the one room that needs it the most. So we got this nice table fan in there and put it on to circulate the air. Momo loves to lay in the breeze from the fan and “fluff out”. So yes, she does enjoy the fan.

we have the A/C set to 80 on their side of the house. they have a ceiling fan and an oscillating floor fan in their room, both of which have been running for the past 3 months non-stop…

Definitely- Rupert enjoys a fan or an open window more than anything. Kahlua is not sure where she is…

Just watch the cord and take some pictures

Lol- all the cords in our house are encased in huge black tubing. I learned my lession quickly with BunBun- he loves chewing cords! And I just took pics the other day of him in his little bed, looking very important and entitled. I just need to get them on here- I’m technically challenged :p .

So it sounds like Bun and Nell are not alone in their love of fans! That’s good to know- and I suppose it makes sense, being as they have thick fur coats that don’t come off.

Definitely. Brody loves the fan, I often have to clean it because his fur gets stuck in there.

Snowball loves sitting in front of our fan in the living room ! Here in the UK, the weather is hot and muggy at the moment, so snowball loves to sit / lay in front of the fan whenever he gets the chance to 🙂
