Powder hates being brushed, like seriously hates it and I have to hold him down to get it done just like a nail trim. But… the other day I was brushing my hair and he was laying beside me and I ran my brush over him just as play and he liked it. Of course then my brush needed cleaned since he’s molting and I had a ton of rabbit fur on it. lol It’s a soft bristle brush, would it be safe to use on him for some grooming he doesn’t hate and then the more serious combing can be done a little less often? I don’t mind sharing my brush with him if it’s safe for him, but not sure if human hair oils etc would cause an issue. I think he likes it because it has my scent on it, because he didn’t like the fur brush that was soft I tried to use on him.

Not an expert, but I’d say why not? If it was hurting him then he wouldn’t let you do it. I think half of why he liked it was because Mommy was doing it . Like trying to feed a toddler peas, *see, mommy likes it, mmm.* My bunnies haven’t gone through a molt yet, but I like to brush them a little each time I give them a good petting. That way they associate the brush with good things and they get used to seeing it.

Chacha doesn’t love my hairbrush, BUT she enjoys playing in my laundry. I think she smells me and she just plays in it to her heart’s content. I just put a towel on the ground in the bathroom and bring Chacha into the bathroom to brush. But, if you find using your brush is easier, AWESOME

Tribun, I tried to sneak a few brush strokes in while petting him but as soon as he sees his brush he RUNS, seriously not a fan of grooming. I usually sit him on the bed for nail trimming/grooming since he’s more likely to stay put, though boyfriend has to help me hold him.
