          No clue at all.

But you want to include in the cost, not just the cost of the rabbit, but the extra cost for vet bills including a spay and the extra veggies and litter you will need plus housing for another rabbit.

I already have two hutches, my dad built another just in case, we have two litter boxes(for his extra house) two water bottles) two food dishes, everything is already there!

Sarita, the title says that the bun is already spayed.

I’m not sure what their adoption fee is, rescues range anywhere from $50-$100… or more. You’d need to contact them for more info.

I will say that they will REQUIRE that the rabbit is housed indoors permanently. You would not be able to do half indoors/half outdoors.

Beka, she just added that, it was not in the initial post. Yes, Lizzy you need to contact them and most likely an adult will need to feel out an application and sign the contract should you be approved for adoption.

The upper range is over 100. One of the 3 rescues here charge an adoption fee of $125.

I would seriously reconsider giving this rabbit a home. Your first rabbit is not even able to be kept indoors so don’t add another one that will have to be outdoors full time as well. Wait until you can give it the proper housing. And as Beka said, shelters generally do require permanent indoor housing and they are allowed to do home checks. I would think that even if you did set up an indoor room for this new rabbit, seeing the other rabbit outside would make them reconsider allowing you to adopt.

I commend you for considering adoption. The higher adoption fee is to help off-set the cost of spay/neuter. So even tho you’d pay more at a rescue than you would at a pet store, or to someone privately selling bunnies, you are saving at least $100-200 on the cost of spay/neutering yourself! And you get to save a life.

Whether or not NOW is the right time for you to adopt, I don’t know. There are so many factors to consider, and if you’re a minor, your parents would have to be primarily responsible to legally adopt.

And money. Always money. Even the adults on this site are always looking for ways to cut costs b/c everything is just so darn expensive nowadays.

Now might not be the time, but please do consider adoption when the time comes.

okay, now I don’t want another bunny.

Don’t be completely disheartened and put off It’s a brilliant thing that you’re considering adopting one, rather than buying from a litter or pet shop and increasing demand on breeding them. Just look over the current habitat you have available for it, and consider whether you might rather wait a while, or maybe increase the size of the pen and make sure its really cosy!
