Wilbur is about 3 1/2 months old. I started introducing vegetables when she was 12 weeks old, but how much should I be giving her daily? I’m having a little trouble with getting her to actually eat them. I’ve found that she is  a little picky but likes dandelion greens, parsley and basil. Other vegetables she’ll eat some of if I hold it out for her. She seems like she doesn’t understand it’s food? Is this normal for this age? Of course if I offer her a piece of apple or carrot she’ll glady eat it ;P

*I forgot to add that the reason why she seems confused is because she’ll chin the vegetables, take a couple bites, then chin again and then become disinterested.

That’s fine-many can be quite picky. The more you offer the more inclined they are to eat it The rule of thumb is about a cup (handful) per 3 lbs of bunny, but of course that’s as an adult. Since you are just introducing I’d offer what she’s inclined to eat but not worry. Since she may be shaping up to be a picky eater it may be a good thing to offer as many different veggies (from the safe veggie list) as you can to get her used to them now. If she has them young she may be more willing to experiment and have a varied diet when she’s older.

It definitely is very normal for rabbits to snub veggies. I couldn’t get Chacha to get a vegetable until she was about 6 months old. She was inhaling all of her pellets until I began to decrease them. I had to chase the little girl down to even try a romaine leaf and she… finally gave in.. and prefers it

I would try one vegetable a week – starting with the leafy greens. Romaine, Green Leaf, Red Leaf.

Some rabbits are really picky and it can take a lot of effort for them to even try a veggie. So, don’t give up!
