I’m not sure of Harvey’s age, just that he’s an adult. He’s a 3 pound holland lop. I give him unlimited hay, about 1/4 cup pellets, and veggies (usually something like 2-3 large romaine leaves, a few sprigs each of parsley and cilantro, 2 baby carrots or one half regular carrot) every day. Does this sound about right for him?

Jackie I’m not sure what to do about. My guess is that she’s about six months old, five or six pounds, and I -think- she’s a mini rex. I’ve been giving her unlimited pellets and hay as well as the same amount of veggies i’m giving Harvey. I know she’s about the age where I should start cutting back on the pellets, but since she has not been eating right or enough for all of her life, I kind of think that right now she should be given all she wants for a couple of months.

What do you guys think? Is there anything I could be doing better?

I switched Chacha to timothy based pellets a few weeks after her spay (at 6 months of age) and started to slowly decrease her pellets. It varies, some vets recommend waiting until a year to make the switch over to timothy and decreasing the pellet intake.

Otherwise, your bunnies’ diets sound great : )

I’d decrease the carrot amount and increase the lettuce amount.

I feed my buns 1/8 cup pellets each, although my 2 girls, the itty bitty girls that they are, share that 1/8 cup

I think you should switch harvey to timothy based pellets the best pellets out there are oxbow timothy based. Make sure you switch to the new pellets gradually. You are feeding the right hay and veggies. I would cut back on the carrots maybe every other day or 2-3 times a week. As for jackie I would consult your vet on this. Some vets it depends for baby rabbits what they think. Hope this helps

I agree with the above, you are doing well for a new bunny owner. I noticed you didn’t say what kind of pellets you are giving them. Harvey should definitely get timothy pellets. As for Jackie, has she had a vet check-up? The vet should tell you if she’s underweight or overweight. Having a poor diet beforehand doesn’t necessarily mean she needs more food. She could have had lots of fattening and/or unhealthy foods, in which you would need to tailor her diet for that.
