I have my first rabbit.  She is great and so funny to watch.  There is only one major problem she has started humping in the past couple of months.  I went away for two weeks and left her with a friend who did not keep on top of it and now she is really bad.  She started biting and diggining in her claws when this happens.  (She didn’t bite me but she bit my friend).  I’m not really sure what to do about this issue.  I’m worried that this is just the begining of her agression.  I am looking for a good place to take my rabbit to be spayed but in the meantime I need to try something else.  Any suggestions?  Other than this my rabbit is a toal sweet heart.

Try getting a stuffed bunny to let her take it out on,  I went through this with sophie, she would grab on to my boyfriend constantly but the stuffed but helped redirect it slightly, also recommend sweatshirts….sounds like she definitely is ready to be spayed!

It’s hormonal. What you might try before you can get her spayed is just to start talking softly to her and pet her when she starts getting this way after you dismantle her from the humping. It may not work because she it’s hormonal behavior but it might work and calm her down.

Don’t worry, she’s not becoming aggressive, bunnies aren’t aggressive. It’s completely hormonal and she will be much better after she’s spayed. They can get worked up like Sarita mentioned so trying to calm her down is good. I found the best thing to do with my Rosy was to leave the room till she calmed down.

Humping is a bit disturbing for the owner but really doesn’t do any harm.
