For the past two or three days, Henry has been squeeking when he breathes.  It sounds like the noise the paper towel makes against the window when cleaning it, that’s how I can best describe it.  He only does this when he is in a relaxed loaf position.  I don’t notice the sound at any other time.  He is eating, drinking, and acting normally.  Should I be concerned?

I would keep an eye on it for now – Otto makes squeaky noises when he breathes sometimes, especially if he’s sniffing extra hard to smell for food or something.

Yeah, probably not vet time quite yet, but do keep an eye on it. Sometimes it turns out to be nothing and sometimes it’s something. Does he have a runny nose? Even if you can’t see any mucous, doesn’t mean it’s not there. Check to see if his nose is wet at all… When I suspect something like this with my rabbits, I use my forearm because it’s more sensitive than my finger tips.

No, he doesn’t have a runny nose and it is dry to the touch.

Keep an eye on it then… The vet really won’t even be able to get a culture without doing anesthesia to get in the nasal cavity.

My Coco is a Major Snorer – and it is little squeak noises as she exhales. Rabbits can and do snore.

Obviously you want to note if other health issues seem to be cropping up – but it can also be a snore.
