It’s almost like a whimper, maybe a grunt? He’s in no pain though.

It’s when I walk by his x-pen, he sticks his cute little nose through the bars, tries to climb up to me, and then makes that odd sound. As soon as i bend down and pet him, he rewards me with the soft grind of his teeth.

Is this grunt just to get my attention? He’s confusing me terribly!

I am no expert, but my bunny also does a very “loving” grunt…..I call it his “piglet noise.”

Kelsey also coos (more high pitched and insistent, but not at all painful or a sign of distress, he coos when he purrs, as he maintains eye contact)….I have a super-affectionate little guy. I love when he makes noises and tries to communicate. Sounds like you have a very sweet bunny, too! He loves you!!!

I agree, I think it’s an “I love you” noise. It’s part contentment, part hormones I think.

”Piglet noise” yes, that’s exactly what it is.  I always wondered how to describe it and “piglet noise” is perfect . Like the sound a baby pig makes.  Rosy does it too, mostly when she wants attention.  I wondered if it was normal myself, but after she had her first vet visit and he said she was healthy I didn’t worry about it.  Now I think it’s pretty cute

I wish Arthur would do piggie noises I only got him once to tooth purr and that was at 3am when I came home from work and I was so excited I tried to wake my boyfriend up to tell him.
