Chacha is a picky hay eater

I’ve discovered that I am not allergic to APD Timothy Gold (maybe it is the lack of/no dust), Chacha gets a mix of Orchard & Timothy Gold. she is currently stuffing her face with it as I type

        Your bunnies fave?

I consider us to be *extremely* lucky in that the timothy hay that we can buy at our Super Target 10 minutes away is gobbled and adored by both of our buns.

I would say Alfalfa, but he doesn’t get that anymore His new favourite is a local Timothy mix I get by the bale, it has clover and grass mixed in.

Oat oat and more oat. I do try to mix some others in there, but they will only eat so much of those.

Timothy. Can’t keep her away with a brick wall when I refill her hay spot every night. She dives in till her head nearly disappears. It’s amusing.

Well, Smudge and Monkey can’t have timothy anymore, although both adored it. They love their oat and BB orchard. They have been snubbing the local orchard lately -.-

The boys love anything remotely resembling food. Typical guys

Oreo goes absolutely bonkers for oat. She’s never been terribly excited about anything else, we tried timothy but she wasted so much by “sorting” out the pieces she didn’t like (plus it was awful with my allergies). She’d also rather apparently eat the carefresh than orchard so oat it is. Silly picky bunny

Hodari is in love with Binky Bunny’s Timothy Blue Blend. She likes hay a lot anyway, but this particular blend is apparently THE BEST. She runs to me when ever I get the bag out and sticks her head in it before I can get a hand full. It makes her smell especially sweet, too. It’s like she’s been frolicking through a meadow full of fragrant wild flowers, with a gentle breeze blowing through some crisp, clean linens on a clothes line! Ha, ha. Seriously.

My two like Timothy and orchard grass the best. They also really love alfalfa, but they only get a little sprinke of that every once in a while.

Navi loves her Timothy/Orchard mix. It’s what my parents feed the horses, so it’s super easy to get ahold of for me (and I can’t beat paying my parents the $4 a bale they paid for it).

My buns love Oxbow Orchard Grass. They want nothing to do with Timothy since they started eating Orchard.

Alfalfa here, but he is only about 5 months. Unknowingly I tried Timothy and he didnt much care for it, but after researching I found out alfalfa for the young guy, then we move on to others down the road a little.

My Squirrel is only 4 months old, but the vet recommended timothy hay for him, as he has alfalfa pellets. You dont need to have alfalfa for both, and he said its best to get him on a good timothy hay so he gets a taste for it

Mature Oat from BB.com for Pip…she almost will eat any hay, but this is her particular fave. Yup. Gotta love those almost ping pong ball size bunny bb’s…except when she lobs one over the fence. 0_o
Both boys must have Oxbow Meadow. Anything else is second beset and gets a cursory sniff. They’ll eat other hay if they have to, but they don’t like it. Fiver cannot have any oat, even though he likes it, because it plugs him up.

I put my vote as “Etc.”

Mine adore young and mature oat hay. I have pretty severe grass allergies in general and oat hay works for me too, so that’s what we get! They didn’t much care for timothy, and it almost killed me and they were ok with orchard and it bothered me just a little, since oat hay works so well for all three of us I haven’t been all that willing to experiment much further in case I react to it. Spence gets so excited when I’m opening a new mini bale of out hay that he bites my pant legs to hurry me along, lol. I actually think that adding fresh hay to the litter box induces more excited head binkying and running in circles than their dinner veggies. lol, little weirdos.
