When I let Olive out to roam, I usually get down on the floor with her for a
little while. Lately, she’s been trying to groom my pant leg and socks with
soft nibbles, and tentatively climbs partly onto my lap or back, if I’m laying
on my belly. I take it these are good signs of budding trust? I don’t really
“play” with her per se, just let her run around the apartment living room to her
heart’s desire and laugh at her antics (except the exasperating, naughty ones
like chewing on the carpet). What sort of games do others play with their
        bunnies?

Yes She seems very curious about you and it sounds like she is warming up to you!

My bunny is silly. I lay on the carpet under a blanket and watch TV, and she will come up to the blanket and paw in it. I go and pet her, and she runs away. We repeat it many times. I wonder if she wants me to chase her or something o_O I’ve heard of some rabbits liking the game of tag.

Yep, that is her exploring you. My female does that, she will occasionally take a pet but usually she just wants to climb over me or paw me or nibble my clothes.

Chacha, my rabbit looooves chase (my male that is, my female would think i’m trying to eat her o.O). He will take off running and sometimes do a binky mid stride and I am supposed to chase him, if I do we do like 10 laps around the house with him zig zagging in front of my feet to try to trip me (so I have to be super careful). He usually wins cause I won’t step on him and stop when he gets in front of me. Cheater. When he’s done / tired he flops by me for pets.

I can tell my bunny is getting more and more opinionated, even in the short time I’ve had her–it’s fun to watch their personalities grow and evolve, especially if it doesn’t including getting more aggressive .  She does a funny thing in her large litter box:  try to hop from side to side and run a bunny 500–except there’s not enough room.   Goofy girl.  Just now she was redecorating her cardboard box in her X pen.  Such a busy bunny!

My bunnies don’t “play” in the way that dogs and cats do. I just play with them by doing some tricks, giving them treats, handing them things to chew, etc. Mostly they just run around and check things out and I snuggle them if they’ll let me.
