Hi there my bunny currently has cancer and he is getting metacam twice aday to help with the pain associated with the cancer. I get it from my vets office and it cost me $17.25 for 15ml which last me 3 weeks. I saw on drs foster and smith they sell metacam and was wondering if I could just order it from them?

You will need a prescription. Ask your vet about selling you the largest bottle – it is alot more affordable. That is what I purchase. Usually the larger sizes are a better deal. They can order it for you if they don’t carry it, but they probably do.

In my experience too, you have to ask and let them know that since you are going to be medicating your rabbit with this on a daily basis, you need a larger size with a better price – they unfortunately aren’t in the habit of asking if you want a larger bottle. Also I think that they want to make sure you are going to keep them updated on your rabbit’s condition. Metacam is one of those medications as well that CANNOT be used past the expiration date.

I agree- you can order but will need a prescription from your vet so it might be best to talk to them first.
