I am coming to find that Tillie is *not* picky (like her momma haha). But her favorite veggies are cilantro, broccoli, sugar snap peas, red leaf lettuce and carrots. And she will chase you down (literally) for apples (which she only gets about 2x a week).

        What do your bun’s love?

Mine love their romaine, cilantro, green leaf, parsley and carrot for dinner, with random other stuff. treats… they adore raisins, craisins, strawberry, papaya. Occasionally banana. Monkey sometimes runs away from nanners.

I thought Tillie would love strawberries, but she only eats the tops. My piggies will smell a strawberry from downstairs and start wheeking! I have not tried giving her raisins, how many is allowable?

I only give mine 1 raisin a day, I limit their treats to 2 a day total, with 1 being a raisin. I’m sure a couple more wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but my buns are quite small, so I don’t want to risk over doing it

My buns fave treat is fresh fruit (pineapple, peaches, pears, bananas and cantaloupe). They get dried papaya candy on a daily basis so fresh fruit is always an exciting treat.

For veggies, the dandelion greens and carrot tops are always the first to disappear.

Otto is picky – he really only likes lettuce and parsley (though when I offer him fresh parsley or lettuce from my window box, he turns them down). He does like dried papaya and craisins, but no fresh fruit. Most of the time when I try to offer something new he acts like I’m trying to poison him.

Hannah isn’t nearly as picky and will eat almost anything green, though she also loves her parsley. She’s not crazy about fresh fruits either, but she finally learned to love bananas! If I’m eating one I’ll hold it out and let her take a bite, but then I always end up with hair on the rest of it. Ick. Haha

Pepper loves cilantro, dandelion, romaine, mixed greens (salad in a bag), wheat grass, strawberries, blueberries, bananas…especially craisins and dried papaya

Sugar loves cilantro, dandelion, parsley, mixed greens (salad in a bag), wheat grass, crasins and dried papaya. For some reason, he will not eat any fresh fruits! :/

I’ve tried green pepper, brussel sprouts, carrots, bok choy, dill, spinich, mustard greens, mangos but they don’t seem to care much about it…

Tillie actually gave me the stink eye when I tried to give her red and green pepper!!

Mine don’t like peppers either. Olivia ate a piece once but that’s probably because she’s already got it in her mouth and chewing it before she has any idea what it is. If you have a treat for her, she just opens her mouth. She doesn’t care what it is. Makes her really easy to give meds to! The next green pepper offering she snubbed.

They’re not crazy about collard greens either.

Hodari isn’t picky either, thank goodness! Mustard and collard greens are the only veggies she has snubbed. Cilantro, arugula, dandelions, and baby bok choy are faves. She also adores broccoli and carrots, but I’m not too generous with those. Diced, dry papaya is her favorite treat. I rarely give her fruit, fresh or otherwise, but, in addition to papaya, she also likes oranges quite a bit. She’s so cute eating them; I love watching her as she licks the remaining juice off the corners of her lips.

I gave Tillie a slice of orange a few days ago and I was laughing at her watching her tongue … she kept licking for a few minutes after she finished.

My Chacha bun enjoys romaine, cilantro, and italian parsley. She has nothing to do with regular parsley. She also enjoys.. er, over enjoys eating wheat grass. So as a slave, I currently have 3 pots of it growing in the sunroom.

As for treats, she likes raisins and dried fruit. I’ve limited her treats to 1 treat a day, twice a week.

Isn’t it adorable? Sounds like Tillie thought it was yummy. Hodari is surprisingly neat when she eats them. Almost no juice gets on the floor or on her chin. Occasionally we used to give our guinea pig oranges; he made such a mess with them! Hodari is all prime and proper, like a lady having tea, dabbing at the corners of her mouth with a napkin.

Aria (just a general list of foods, treats, and veggies): Timothy Hay, White Grapes, Raisins, Craisins, Cucumber peelings, Bunny Pretzel Sticks (it’s a mix of veggies and fruit in a stick form), Carrot Stick snacks (they are made from carrots with Alfalfa hay on the top mixed with some of the carrot tops — she had only two this week because they are quite big), I assume she would like carrots ( but I have yet to give her a small one yet), I’m sure that Aria would like most vegetation that a bunny could have. She seems to pretty much eat whatever you’ll give her (I say this because she can kill cardboard and the sticks and the cucumber peels). She’s like a bunny vacuum when it comes to food and snacks.  ALSO, she does like dandelion flowers and stems.  I only give these to her in moderation (simply because we’re in short supply of these where I live — must be some wild bunnies around at night getting to them).

Pixie (just a general list): Timothy Hay, Cucumber peelings (but she doesn’t like me to know so she never eats them when I’m watching her), Bunny Pretzel Sticks, Carrot Stick snacks (when I’m holding them and playing with her with them, otherwise she won’t eat them while I’m watching), Carrots (a small little strip, and she also doesn’t like me to know she likes these so she doesn’t eat them, again, while I’m watching her), I think she secretly likes to eat veggies bit she doesn’t want me to know or watch her eat them for some reason. I know she doesn’t like White Grapes, because I had one in there over night in her food dish and she ignored it. I think she does like Raisins and Craisins because I hadn’t seen any in her food dish or in her cage this morning when I was doing my morning cleaning.  Pixie secretly likes the dandelion flowers, she’ll eat them but NEVER while I’m watching or my mom is watching.

I’m slowly going to add other veggies and fruits into the mix, and only once or twice daily at various times just to see what they like to eat.  I’m hoping Pixie will come out of her shell of openly eating hay and pellets for me and actually start eating other veggies and fruits and actually show me that she likes them.  Aria on the other hand, I think she’ll like pretty much anything I give her as long as it’s food fit for her tastes.  :]

And I’m only giving them other snacks as treats for doing something really good like using their litter box (which Pixie has gotten out of doing recently), not ripping up my carpet, not peeing on my carpet, etc.  :]  And I break off small parts to make sure I’m not over-feeding them the treats.

I’ve only tried giving Rory romaine, baby carrots and celery (pulled apart and the stringy fibers removed), and he’s only ever touched the lettuce. Parsley seems to be a common hit, so I’ll be offering that up next.
