I was wondering what kind of nutritional values does grass have? Just the average backyard stuff. My google search didn’t come up with anything

I know about pesticides and that it isn’t a replacement for veggies.

I am not sure about grass… I do grow and give my bunny wheat grass. It is what people see at the pet stores labeled as ‘cat grass.’ At grocery stores, it is labeled as wheat grass. I bought some cat grass seeds at Target and have grown a bunch for my bunny. It has A LOT of nutrients.

You can’t get a more natural food for them then grass. Hay does have some protein, vitamin (A,C,D &E) and mineral content (like silica), so makes sense the fresh version i.e. grass has even more. More importantly it’s the fibre thats beneficial. The chlorophyll is good too.
IMO grass is one of the most balanced things you can feed a rabbit.

Sometimes I think the veggies we give are a replacement for grass! Maybe because we can source them readily, know it’s safe to a degree because it’s marketed for human consumption. Also, the nutritional info about common veggies is more well known.
