We left peanut butter and jelly for 48 hours.  My friend stayed at my apartment and I left VERY detailed instructions for him.  The girls stayed in their cage and their schedule was uninterrupted. According to my friend the girls were both active all weekend, ate, and seemed normal.  I was also calling every 3 hours (talk about over protective mom, right?)

So we just got home, and as always, I got in their play area to say hi and gave them their raisins.  Jelly came out to say hi and PB has not left the cage.  And didn’t eat the raisin.  She’s laying with her ears back and with sleepy eyes.  I tried carrying her but she won’t let me. But I grabbed her paws and checked her nose and teeth and she was fine with that.

What does everyone think? Do you think she’s just depressed or just ticked off because we left her? I’m worried sick!!!

UPDATE: I don’t think she’s opening her mouth!!! I felt around her head- NO BUMPS. Now she’s laying in the litter box after she escaped from my arms.

It does sound like she’s just ticked off and is letting you know. As long as your friend has told you that they were eating, etc normally, I would just continue to monitor her. Some bunnies feel the need to pout and sulk over things we do. LOL

Last year I had a guy over and we made out. Eddie wouldn’t let me touch him for a week. A WEEK. Wanted nothing to do with me. He did continue to eat and drinking and everything. He just avoided me. So some can be pissed off for quite a while with us. LOL He never did like it when I left him overnight either. It would always take him a few days to forgive me and to let me cuddle with him. On the other hand, Lolli never cared how long I was gone as long as she had food. haha

As long as she eats/poops by morning, she’ll be fine. I’m not trying to worry you but we just have to make sure they are still eating. I really do think she will be fine. She’ll eat when she’s ready. It might take however long she decides until she’s ready to let you make it up to her though.

lol Cady acted the same way when I left for a weekend, my friends stayed with him and took great care of him but when I got home I got nothing but attitude.  just keep giving lots of attention and hopefully all will be forgotten! lol guess we’re not allowed to have any fun without them!

Some bunnies act like this when we leave for a while. Otto has a habit of not eating well for a day after we get back sometimes. I hope she’s ok in the morning!
