Ok the Emo Bunny part is a joke… But Cadbury prefers to be inside. She prefers to eat grass that is picked for her and she will high tail it fast to get back into the house if we take her out. The other day I put her out on a lead with my daughter and she kept coming back inside (20 foot lead). Till finally we just took the lead off.  The front door was wide open  but she didnt go NEAR it …. so much for the born in the wild bit hey….

She also loves her cage.  She spends alot of time in it.  She goes in to sleep, eat (even if there is food and water out) , just to hang out ect.  Often times we will be searching high and low for her and shes in her cave sleeping IN THE CAGE…..

Gabby doesn’t seem to like being outside either. I tried a couple times but it just made her frantic so I haven’t anymore.

I have tried to do it with my bunny, and she did not like it. She froze at the sounds… and she ran and hid underneath her grandpa’s BBQ pit. As soon as I saw that, I scooped her up and we went back into the house, forever.

She was born in the wild… lol She doesnt mind if I am sitting on the grass and she can curl up beside me… but if I walk away she bolts for the house… Shes not scared or anything just wants to be inside. Even if I put her cage out she prefers the indoors. Shes people oriented …..and just loves to be where the action is so if we are all out she is too but the second someone goes inside she follows. I find it hilarious.

Mine hate the outside. I’ll try to sit on the porch with the door open and they won’t even come near it. Sometimes I drag them out in their maze – I used to set up the xpen around the edge, but then I realized they wouldn’t even come out of the maze. Haha. They both just sleep and pretend they’re inside.

Mine don’t seem too inclined to sneak out the kitchen door, thank god. Our house is on a main road but we have woods out back- basically all the dangers of a city and the country rolled into one. There are too many predators here for my comfort- hawks, fisher cats, coyotes, feral cats… hawks scare me especially cuz they can just swoop down and grab a little bunny . The day that we found BunBun in our back yard, a hawk was circling him overhead and he was oblivious to it. So obviously he’s not a “wild” bunny even though his idiot former owners had him living outside >.< . I worried at first that he would try to slip out the door to revisit his old stomping grounds, but he has never tried. Nelli is too wimpy to escape- the only thing is that if someone (like my kids friends) startled her and the door was open, she could panic and dash outside.
I love the idea of a nice enclosure outside, but it would need to be covered on top as well, and then there’s the issue of snakes and bug/spider bites, poisionous plants…. I’m just too overprotective I guess.

Eddie hated being outside. I got thumps, foot flicks, (attempted) bites and glares when I brought him back in. lol Lolli is more adventurous and once she gets over her initial fear, her curiosity kicks in and she’ll start exploring. But she’s only been outside once. At my mom’s. For maybe 5 minutes cause it was dusk and it started getting buggy and mom (me) does not deal with bugs. lol But she’s always been the one to come out sooner when people were over at my apartment, etc. Eddie would stay hidden until he thought SHE was getting treats, then he’d sloooooowwwwllllyyy come back out. lol

Most rabbits usually prefer their “home” whether it be a cage or pen area. Although they generally think the whole freaking house is THEIRS, they do recognize that their cage/pen is actually solely theirs.
