I’m worried about Bindi (what else is new!). The last few days he’s drinking almost double his usual. I fill his crock to the top and by the next morning it’s completely empty. He’s also peeing more and I have to change his litterbox more frequently because it’s so wet and pee-smelling. Last night during run-time he was really lazy and didn’t want to do anything.

He’s going to the vet next week to get his teeth re-checked so I will make sure to mention it.

The weather hasn’t gotten very hot lately but I noticed it’s more humid. We had to turn on our de-humidifier in the basement. Could that make him drink more?

My first thought was the change in the weather. Also, did you change any of his foods that may have added salt? Definitely tell the vet.

No, no food changes. I thought I had read somewhere that they may drink more water if they are having a problem with their teeth? Is that right?

Yesterday and today he refuses to eat his cilantro, parsley and carrot greens. He eats his lettuce, pellets and hay but refuses to eat the rest. When I woke up this morning he had eaten what I left in his dish but at breakfast left all that stuff again.

It’s only been a few weeks since his dental trim, could he already be having more problems?

We are going in on Monday for a check-up.

I’m wondering if he’s eating more hay/pellets because now his teeth feel better, so he doesn’t have to fill up on all the veggies to keep his tummy full?
Healthy bunny vibes to Bindi! (((((((((((((((((Bindi))))))))))))))))))))))))

Edson drinks more water than any other bunny or human I know! I posted my saga a few years ago and the bottom line is nothing is wrong with him after having hundreds of dollars worth of tests run. He drinks 32 ounces a day! Down from 48 when this all first started. One suggestion is put a layer of hay (love Bink Bunny’s timothy for this purpose) over the pellets to keep the feet dry. I change his litter box completely every other day because it does get so wet but the hay helps tremendously. Not to say you shouldn’t investigate the cause of the double water drinking but just to let you know that mine did not have anything wrong with him. Good luck.

Good to see you back, JK! I do the same thing with Mimzy, hay on his litter is imperative now, he’s gotten to the point he’ll toss the box if I don’t put it in. Silly thing! (I use Kaytee Orchard grass, as we go through quite a bit of it and it’s necessary to have large quantities.)
I see by LPT’s other post that Bindi’s had normal test results, so that’s good news!
