My post here is a little long …  my life has been overwhelmed and I guess I need to vent ….  so I hope everyone understands.   Mainly, though, I want to tell what behavior my little bunny is doing in my very long absence.

Three weeks ago, my son became very sick and put in the hospital in Thailand.  He lives in Thailand and I live in the U.S. in the state of Georgia.   I had to make an emergerncy trip to be with my son.  He was in the hospital for one week and now recovering at his home.   My son is doing well now.

When I first learned of my son’s illness, I went thru three very difficult days trying to get on a plane and get to him.   I am afraid to fly, so I have never gotten a passport.   Therefore, I had to deal with getting a passport immediately and getting a last minute flight … and fly for 22 hrs.   What an awful ordeal.

My husband stayed home to take care of our home and small zoo.   During the past 3 weeks, I have spoke daily with my husband.  He has informed me Bonnie Lee, our little Dwarf Holland Lop, has been going potty all over the house.   Note, Bonnie Lee is a free range bun full time as she is normally excellent with her litter box habits.    My husband further explained she is dropping her potty pellets more in our dining room and butler’s pantry ……. so, this tells me Bonnie Lee is most likely sitting longer in these two rooms  looking for her human mom …. Me.    Poor baby …… she loves her human daddy … and he is very good to her …. but  I guess daddy is just not as good as her mom  .    Hubby said the first two weeks was real bad with the pellet dropping, but this last week (the third week) ….  Bonnie seems to be getting better.   I should be flying home soon and it will be interesting to see if if she stops dropping pellets around the house once I get back home.

I also have a Cocker Spaniel who is so depressed now that I have been gone.   I realize my furry babies are missing me … but I am so happy I have a husband who has tried his best to take care of all my babies the best he could in my absence.   In the last 9 years, I have never left them.   I don’t travel anymore because for me, there is no place like home.  We have a beautiful home in the country and that is the only place I want to be …. at home with my hubby and my pets.    I hate to leave my son now though ….. but he is doing very well and he is ready to have his condo all to himself again.         If my son would move back home, then I would be the happiest person in the world.  … but he is 28 yrs old & he has no interest in moving back home …. life is too slow at our house …. he likes the city life now.  (He is living in Bangkok, Thailand now).

Awww, I could understand where they’d get a bit nutty haha. I’m sure they’ll be fine when you get home! Have a safe flight back!

That must have been so scary for you. I am very glad to hear your son is making a good recovery.

Yes, your babies are missing you. If you need to leave again, I once comforted my bunny that stayed at a friend’s house for a week by leaving a sock I had worn until it, well, smelled like me. My bunny didn’t chew on it (we tied it to a cage bar to hang from) but he licked it and licked it and licked it. A pillow case you’ve slept on would also probably comfort your dog, and possibly your bunny.

There’s nothing to be done except give them lots of love when you get home and let them slobber all over you with happiness. (They may ignore you for 2 minutes because they are mad that you left them. That won’t last.) Your home sounds lovely, btw.
