this morning i noticed both Cady and Sophie had some larger than usual poos mied in with their regular sized cocoa puffs…Im wondering could this have anything to do with them both shedding or because they are bot going through bunny puberty? both have been eating drinking and pooping regular amounts no change in activity level…just curious…

          are they fixed?
i remember right before my rini and usako got spayed @ 5 months age,, rini started dropping little footballs instead of pills.
if the hormones are really stating to kick up, make sure you keep an eye on them when they’re out together, and even assemble a 2nd cage if they start to pick fights. You’ll need 2 cages anyways for right after you get them fixed.

oh they are in separate rooms, lol no more baby bunnys here, but I handle them each quite a bit so I’m sure they’v picked up on each others scents, yeah football shaped is a good way to describe them and they are pretty random and if all goes well they’ll both be going in Tuesday

It could be due to shedding. Has anything recently changed in their diet? Any extra treats?

If their fur is in a real molt fest, then I suggest combing/brushing it, and of course make sure they are eating plenty of hay.

My little guy is  almost 5 months and the same thing started happening about 4 days ago. His poos are definitely football shape ( not all).  I think it may be because of puberty but I am not positive. He is not really eating his pellets either. He grazes but mostly just eats the unlimited amount of hay he has. Everything else seems to be normal. He’s eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom and being his usual crazy self. Any concerns?

Hi Fuzzwards, welcome, we ask that you do not pull up and respond to old threads so I will be locking this thread – feel free to start a new topic on your concern though.

I don’t think you need to be concerned as long as he is pooping, eating and drinking about the shape of the poops.
