This site tells you how to sex your rabbits.  It’s graphic as it has actual pictures of rabbits’ genitals.  (Just an fyi)

          http://www.rabbitnetwork.org/articles/sexing.shtml

From the pictures, it looks like the testicles are more to the sides.  I am not much help in this area, but I know others will be.     But I know it’s disappointing if you were wanting a girl, but it really happens all the time.  Sometimes vets don’t even get it right till they go in to remove parts.

nope, that’s a testicle! that is the side, and one on the other. it’s just hard holding a squirmy rabbit, parting the plethora of fluff, and taking a picture all at once

now, to explain to goose that “princess” rue is actually a “prince”!

When I got my first bun, I didn’t know its gender (it was young & I hadn’t yet started getting rescues). I had just gone through a bad break-up of a long relationship, and I found I responded quite differently based on whether I thought it might be male or female – I was definitely happier when I was thinking of it as a female! It’s probably a good thing she DID turn out to be female!

P.S. One of the many advantages of rescues is you know their gender (and personality and they’ve already been spayed/neutered and usually litter trained).

One of the easiest rabbit procedures a vet can do (or an owner) is a sex change. LOL

Oops! The good news is that the procedure (ignores Katnip’s silliness) to neuter a male is much easier for a vet, and costs less than a spay. So you can take him to the vet any time now to make the appointment for the neuter as soon as your vet wants to do it. It could be OK within a month or two now, if the testicles have made an appearance.
We can rename him “Prince Formerly Known as Princess.” I’ll buy the CD.

Everyone here knows the shock I went through in finding Mimzy was not the sweet little girl bunny I thought he was. lolz….

After his neuter, inspecting the sutures, I had to wonder, HOW did I NOT notice THOSE?? 0_o

hah! it’s so funny how easy it is to get it wrong. rue HATES being on his back, which is why even the breeder said, “well, i’m pretty sure it’s a girl, but i could be wrong.” i can usually only get in a couple quick licks with the brush before i loose him. i actually wanted a buck in the first place, since neuters are soooo much cheaper. rue chose me, though, so that’s why we brought “her” home.
