Good evening everyone! Unfortunately my bunny is now limping. Just yesterday he was fine and hoping and dancing around fine; however today my gf and i noticed when we took him out of his cage his is not putt his right rear foot down. I lifted him up and had him rest his rear two feet on my hand to feel the “strength” of them and his right rear foot seemed to be able to handle the pressure of his body. I even carefully felt around and gently massaged his foot in question with my fingers and traced his bones with the tip of my finger to feel if anything was out of place but nothing felt out of the ordinary.

i know ultimately only a vet will be able to tell with xrays since their bones are so small but has anyone ever had this problem before? Is it possible he laid down on it wrong or has a muscle cramp?

I guess it could be something with the muscle, but only a vet would be able to tell you for sure. Have you been able to get ahold of your vet?

I definitely would recommend seeing a vet so they can determine if it’s bone or soft tissue. In the meantime I would keep him confined so he doesn’t get further injury.

Still take him to the vet- my bunny would scratch is face when he broke his leg… even though the cast was on.

Yeah I posted here about a month ago when my boyfriend accidentally kicked Mr. Bun-Bun. He hopped around holding his left leg up for a couple minutes, and then would hold it up off and on. I just kept a really close eye on him. I’d see him binky, using both legs fine, and then 5 minutes later he’d be hopping around using only one back leg. I was sure it wasn’t broken because of the binkies, I think it just hurt him. Maybe your bunny fell or injured himself when you weren’t watching. Let us know what the vet says – I never went because after a couple days he was completely normal, my theory was that he was holding up his leg mostly to make my boyfriend feel bad – haha.
