I’m pretty sure Zelda’s very annoyed at me. Yesterday i had to go spend the night at my grand parents so I left my place at 10.30am. I made sure she had loads of hay, food, water and chewy things formher to keep herself occupied with. I came home today at 9pm and let her out of her cage. She clearly wanted to expel her energy and has been running around frantically. But she’s being bold, going into corners she knows she’s not allowed, pooping on the carpet and jumping on the sofa a whole lot to poop.

Will she calm down in a day or two?

I forgot, did you get her a xpen to add to her cage?
And I’m pretty sure it’s way too early to expect a baby bunny to stay out of areas you don’t want and to be fully litter trained, I think Zeldas about 10 weeks right?

Yep, you would be right! She’s about three months old. She’s very well behaved normally and seems to be calming down more during the evening. I think she was just over excited. I don’t have an x pen for her yet, I have one ordered but she won’t be alone for that length of time again for quite a while.

On a side note, is it okay for a bunny to chew on a paper towel?!

              paper towels are fine

She should be back to normal soon, she’s probably just grumpy about you being gone and messing up her schedule. My buns get like that too

Hehe, looks like she’s having fun there. Is it just me, or is she bigger already??

Awe, she’s so cute. And hopefully she’ll get over being grumpy. Lolli gets grumpy with me. Eddie used to be horrible about it though….foot flicking and just being a little poophead. lol In case you weren’t aware, they can also have newspaper and the yellow pages. It’s ok if they ingest paper products (including cardboard) cause it just goes through them. But don’t let her eat magazines.

I found out by accident last month that Lolli loves to shred kleenex. I didn’t realize I had a dropped a few on the floor and the next morning, they were everywhere. Oh well…cheap toy for her! lol

I don’t get it. She will only jump on the sofa to poop on me…. wtf?!

                              Wow, I remember you saying she was 1.5lbs before…now she’s 3lbs?

Looks like Zelda is marking you as hers . Good thing bunny poop is so easy to clean up, or this whole litter training thing would be a lot more of a hassle…

Yeah, she wants to make sure the whooooole world knows that you are HER mommy only.

Lol it seems that way, but it’s ONLY on the sofa!! Any tips on stopping this. When she does it, I pick her up and put her on the ground and put her poops in her tray.

She sounds like she is disapproving of mommy’s absence

Sounds like she’s young and full of energy! Hannah gets frantic when she’s been locked up too long and she’s four years old – some buns just don’t like being cooped up 😉 I’m sure she’ll settle down soon, but she might get worse before she gets better as she’s going to enter the hormonal phase soon.

Also, paper towels are fine. Mine especially love when I set the whole roll down and they go to town digging and chewing at it (until I see what they’re doing and take it away from them!)

Haha, yeah she was a bit of a nightmare last night. Kept trying to climb into the tv and chew on wires. She’s so bold!

So the pooping on the sofa thing could just be her being hormonal? I’ve noticed she’s started peeing outside the litter tray too. Still in her cage, but when I lift the tray to empty it, there’s pee underneath. So I’m gonna put paper towels under her tray. Maybe it was too small for her too, so I’ve taken her food bowl out of the tray and just left hay and litter in it. I’ve also put her pellets in with her hay. Think this is okay?

Damn it, she knows when  I’m not feeling the most energetic! Feels like I’m minding a two year old!

Daphne’s gotten so much bigger too in the two weeks I’ve had her. They grow up so fast, *tear Love the paper towel picture, totally adorable. You should see if she likes cardboard. I found Daphne likes putting pieces of cardboard in particular places, so I’ll prop it up against a wall or against her cage and she’ll hop over and move it somewhere else. Kinda hilarious, especially since the cardboard is bigger than her…

Lol, oh yeah I have noticed that! There’s a big shoe box beside her cage to help her hop into it, she loves to pick it up and drag it about. There are also little hollow pockets in my coffee table that I have stuffed with newspaper that she likes to hop into and dig. She’s just been a bit of a handful the last few days but I’m guessing she’ll calm down when she’s gone through her teens and has been spayed.

LOL that’s the perfect analogy.  I remember the frustrating bunny teenage times…it felt like every other second we were telling Peppy “NO!” because she was getting in some sort of mischief.  Good thing she’s always been the sweetest little girl, or else I don’t know how I would have dealt with it!

So, just to be clear here, generally they calm down after the teens, yeah?!
