My rabbit has not been drinking i have been giving him water with a little apple juice with a syringe so he will drink he isn’t eating dry food but he has been eating iceberg lettuce with a strawberry and few carrots i switched to iceberg lettuce when he stoped eating to see if that would help he is only eating a little of it not as much as he use too, last night when i was giving him water with apple juice blood came out of his anus on the blanket and on the floor it was allot scared me what could of made that happen? or has anyone else experienced that? Plus he has been grinding his teeth very loud he has been like this for 3 days and last night that happened.

If your rabbit’s appetite has been off for a while, please take him to see a vet ASAP. Also, iceburg lettuce is usually not recommended for rabbits in the first place. Are you sure your rabbit is a he? Unspayed female rabbits are very susceptible to reproductive cancer that may cause blood “down there”. The teeth grinding means your rabbit is in a lot of discomfort/pain…again, please go consult a vet.

Take your rabbit to a good, rabbit-savvy vet as soon as you can. Loud tooth grinding is a sign that a bunny is in a lot of pain. Also, the blood coming from his anus is quite concerning. I’m not quite sure what could be causing that, unless he actually got an injury on his anus somehow.

I had to put my Pookie down yesterday the vet said Pookie was a girl and she had the reproductive cancer cause she wasn’t breeding or spayed I wish i knew she was a girl cause the owner that had her before me said she was a boy then i would of spayed her but that’s why she was bleeding and grinding her teeth she was in pain she said she had a very slim chance of surviving so i had to put her down so she wouldn’t suffer anymore. Pookie will be greatly missed its not the same without her at all my house is empty without her she was are family . I just wish i knew then i could of spayed her she was such a good bunny and i loved him i mean her I’m so used to thinking she was a boy no bunny could replace Pookie. Thank You all again

I’m so sorry for your loss of Pookie. It’s a sad mistake and please don’t beat yourself up over it – if you knew in time you would have done what you could.
She is over the Rainbow Bridge now and will not suffer. You loved her and that’s what counts.

Aww, poor Pookie. How old was she then? It sounds like the person who had her before had her for awhile.
