        Hey everyone!

I’m hoping for some quick advice .

My rabbit appears to have seasonal allergies and the only thing that helps him is willow leaves.  We’ve taken him to the vet, they did a sinus flush and gave us drops, but those only work for a short time.

We purchased willow leaves from the site under the direction of a few people that said they work well for respitory systems and they are like magic!  I’ve been stalking the webpage waiting for them to come back in to stock but they’re still a no-go.

Does anyone know of any other herbs or leaves that work for allergies and the like in the same way that willow leaves do?

        Many thanks for any advice!

        Julie

Has your vet done any other testing or listening to your rabbit’s lungs? There is not a lot of information about rabbits and their allergies from what I know

I would seek a second opinion. Watery eyes, as it is common in human allergies, may be different in rabbits.

I’m not familiar with Willow Leaves as a treatment, but I just googled and under the Shopping section there were flowering willow leaves for pets listed in many online stores. The first being Amazon, so I suggest you just order them from one of those. It was only about $4.

Willow bark can does have some have some analgesic properties (pain killing) and the “leaves” have been said to have a little bit as well (though a trained herbalist recently told me that they do not). But I am wondering if your bunny may have any teeth issues (molar spurs or something) that can cause sinus infections and watering eyes. If willow is soothing the pain and inflammation in some way. Have your vet check your bunny’s teeth (not just the front incisors, but the back molars).   Many times chronic respiratory problems can be tooth related.

The willow should be back in stock by the end of May — Grow your leaves Willow Trees…grow, grow, grow!!

Willow has been used for pain relief- but I have not read any uses for allergies. Maybe it is time to go back to the vet.
