Gabby has the cutest gray fur tufts on either side of her rump. I’ve been calling them butt wings. When we came home this evening I noticed most of it had been shed. Is that going to come back again this season or is it gone til next winter? I’m not sure how often fur comes back in on rabbits.

Gabby’s neck fur is a little bit longer than the rest of her body fur. It now seems to be growing a little bit longer in that area. Does rabbit fur grow in more in the spring or is it her age and she’s just coming into how her fur will be as an adult?

Rabbit fur grows back fairly quick.
Some will go through a major shed twice a year, some are all season shedders!
I would recommend the comb from the bb store
I lightly pluck my rabbits fur once a week and give it a comb through.
          Brushing is highly essential

Thanks for the tips. I’ll definitely get that brush for her fur. I’m hoping that neck fur will continue to grow a little longer. It’s so cute to me. For some reason she has the netherland dwarf look to me, especially the shape of her eyes. But with the hair a little longer around her neck it makes me think lionhead.

I have a half lionhead female who has longer neck fur and chops, but everything else is normal length. All my buns are going through sheds right now, but Mimzy (my lop) is by far the funniest as he has a big balding patch on his head. (literally, he has skin showing in spots)
I’ll have to post the pix I took a few days ago. As of tonight, the bare spots are almost gone! 0_o

I would love to see the pictures you took. I bought some things for Gabby in the bb store and included the brush that was recomended. Gabby’s getting spayed this week so I bought one of those cardboard box houses and one of those bags that has a hay blend, pine cones and a toy inside. Maybe that will perk her up after the spay.

yes,, shedding season is definitley upon us… after brushing, i LIGHTLY use a USPS sticky airbill pouch to get all the loose tufts before they go airborne

My poor dryer doesn’t have a chance between the bunny fur and the guinea pig fleece and towels I already have to wash weekly.

She does look like a half dwarf, half lionhead to me!  I could be wrong though lol. Some Lionheads have a full mane, some half a half.. some have.. none, I think?
