I have three bunnies! Jack is three months old and Benny is six weeks old. I also have a bunny who will be two on April 30 named Baxter. Baxter seems like a really happy bunny, he’s always binkys around and gives lots of kisses. Lately though he’s been laying down and not doing anything. He doesn’t want anything to do with me and he’s beginning to start getting fat… I’m super sad and annoyed! What could be the problem?  Should I see a vet or continue to try to play with him?

It sounds like he’s just being a rabbit. How do you know he’s getting fat – what are you measuring this against.

The behavior of a two year old rabbit is going to be significantly different from a 3 month or 6 week old rabbit.

You don’t need to be super sad or annoyed, you just need to realize that all rabbits have different activity levels. I think you should just enjoy Baxter for what he is and how he acts if he’s a happy rabbit, maybe he’s happy this way.

Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better! I guess I’ll try to come up with a couple of games and find toys he likes…

Do you ever sit on the floor with him while he is out? Most rabbits only enjoy their humans at “their level”.
