Hmmm are they in a cage or pen? Do they have litter only in the litter box or also on the floor of their habitat, outside of the litter box? Often that can confuse them.

Is the litter box big enough for them to fit comfortably in with room to spare?

What kind of litter do you use?

They have a Really big Cage with a pullout pan underneath that catches stay droppings, or in this case all the droppings they drop in the corner..I have one of those corner litter boxes and am thinking of upgrading to a bigger one.. it seems small.. They can get in it and go with some room in there I would just like to have them have more room and also I take it out of there cage so they can use it in there play area, since the play area is not connected to there cage.. .. And I am using Equine Fresh, Natural Pine Pellet bedding.. That is what the guy at Tractor Supply told me to use. when i was looking for a litter.. I am completley new to raising bunnies..and have been reading up on them and learning as much as I can.

What size is this cage. Also if it has a grid on the bottom that is not good for rabbit feet.

You don’t need bedding – you just need to use this as litter.

Also, glad you are here and we are happy to help you with their bunny and your bunny set-up.

                How old are your rabbits?

                  Welcome Jen : )

You’ll have to do a bit more “tweaking” to set them up for successful use of a box. The equine bedding is a good litter (as Sarita said, use in the box only). You won’t need as much litter in the box as you would for a cat so it is quite economical.
Hay over or in the litter box is a good move.  You can put a layer of hay or straw over the wood pellets if you find they are avoiding standing on them.

                  The things I’d change are:
                  1) Use a rectangular cat litter box
                  2) Cover the drop-thru flooring with something solid. Coroplast/signboard is popular, or you could use tile. Even just use the catch pan as the floor if possible. Keep the flooring free of bedding.
                  3) Put some droppings in the box so they identify it as the toilet spot. Mop up any pee accidents of the flooring with paper towel and put the soiled towel in the box. Again, to help them identify where to go.

I think you’ll find they’ll quickly adjust to using the box provided it is big enough.

Are both rabbits sharing this cage?

Hello And Yes Both Rabbits are sharing this cage and I bought something for them to sit on in there since the bottom is not good for thier feet.. I was using cardboard pizza box bottom, for it until I could buy something for them for that..So they have been protected all this time..Also I did get a Cat box for them..Thanks for all the advice I think they are getting better at litter training! LOVE LOVE My bunnies!
