I don’t hae a “v” so bear with me lol.

I’e done some research and i’m going to try this new litter system. Just to be on the safe side, I’m coering the litterbox with a BB litter screen een though the materials (silica based minerals not unlike sand) has been tested (unfortunately extensiely) on rabbits and is totally safe and passable, also no dust. Also extra safe, I asked my vet and I’m waiting to hear back Basically the litter doesn’t absorb anything and lets the urine pass to a pad, and I’m modifying it to put a screen on top and … woila … poops on top of the screen, urine in the bottom… I think I’m on to something here! The reiews are raing mad for this litter and some people rinse the litter off after a month and put it back in. If you do the math, een if you use a bag eery week, it’s cheaper than my 50LB / $5 wood pellets, and the bag weighs like a pound! I feel like a genious right now lol. Also as far as I know NOONE has tried this yet XD I’e been googling all night. I will let you guys know what happens!!

so the pee runs off the litter, through a grate, and onto a pad that unlike a puppy pad, you only change once a week. (tested for one large cat peeing for a week) The poop sits on top and, if you hae a cat, I guess you just pick off that poop and no litter is lost. But… stick a little grate on that and …. great for bunnies? Also I’m going to try it with my wood pellets and see what happens. The pee appears to run off of them and then dissole the pellets underneath the top layer, which is why I guess they don’t smell ^.^

I’m definitely only trying this because my bunnies don’t eat things (especially Franz) so I’m not worried, and I’d imagine they wouldn’t go crazy oer urine coered rocks anyway rofl.

The mineral is called “zeolite” and it’s basically microporous rock not unlike olcanic rock, in fact it’s from olcanic ash.

I have seen it at walmart. I thought it was an automated thing, guess not huh!?  I have an automated one for my cats and I LOVE IT! let us know how this works out? I would be curious to know? I currently use wood pellets and that has been the best!

If I am not mistaken, Zeolite is used in commercial absorbants and cat litter. Interesting.

My vet got back to me and she said that the wax coating is harmless as long as he doesn’t eat tons of it. She said as long as he’s not nomming down on it then it should be fine

Also I got the dimensions of the inside litter pan and ordered the large binkybunny screen which looks a bit small longways, but I’ll just put the hay on that end

Off subject, JASMINE HAS BEEN AMAZING WITH HER LITTER HABITS! She not only always poops in the box, even on the first day, but she only poops in a pile in it too! She’s NEVER peed outside of the box once! She also eats all the little hay bits that have got on the floor from me and Franz dragging them around! She’s so awesome! I let her live in my room away from Franz and she hangs out on the bed and everything, no damage or poops at all! I didn’t have to do anything lol. She likes to take the books off my shelf and chew the spines lol but I just moved them

I’d definitely use it with a grid, just to be on the safe side in case naughty buns decide it looks too good to eat. You never know with these critters.
