I was laying close to Oreo’s head tonight and petting her, and noticed a faint whistling noise when she was breathing.  It wasn’t constant the whole time, and she doesn’t seem to have a wet nose or any labored breathing… She is acting completely normal otherwise.  I just happened to hear it because I was close to her face.

Should I be concerned or can this be normal at times?  Such as if she is very relaxed or something?  When I heard it she was also tooth purring at times enjoying a good head rub…

Of course I will pay close attention to any other changes or if I start noticing it more, but I wanted to get an idea of whether or not it’s a red flag..

        Thanks in advance!

It is just a rabbit snoring sound, if she only does it in her sleep.

I noticed the same thing with Buddah. When I took him to the vet for his first check up, she said it is normal in larger breeds sometimes and his lungs sounded perfect (no other symptoms either..) i researched a lot trying to find an answer as well, and I came across something that said that lops are more prone to this if they have a somewhat flatter head than other bunnies.. or something may be lodged in their nose possibly… maybe it was the way she was lying down? I only really notice it when my bunny is flat on his stomach with his legs out behind him.
