Obviously this calls for a vet appt, but I believe it is Patches who is peeing blood since I just started finding pee in the food dishes when he came here and I found bloody pee in it today. Has anyone else had rabbits with this problem? If so what did you find out?? I am really worried, I have no idea what to expect..

Is it bloody pee, or just red pee?

There is a discussion about this in the Q&A section…take a look at that…red urine is very common in rabbits.

Thank you!! Go figure all I had to do was look around more on the forum!! It was all very informative, especially the one link that was put up in many ways. I am going to school to be a vet tech and I can NEVER learn too much.

My first bunny Lash would frequently off and on have orange to deep red urine. My vet told me it was common and natural for the urine to change different shades and not to worry. But if it is drops or a pool of actual blood IN the yellow pee, like you say, call the vet and tell him’her about it and take him in right away.

My bunnies would urinate – and poop – in their ceramic crocks. The only thing that stopped it was when I switched to the hard plastic Marshall J feeder at ferretdepot.com I did drill large holes in the bottom of the bowl for pellet dust to escape, and secure the feeder to the pen with a bungee cord because the clasps on the feeder don’t attach well to pens, only cages. I frequently top off the bowl with pellets and the bunnies don’t try to dig them out either. I have J feeders for each of my bunnies. They’re great.
