Hazel was spayed about 2 weeks ago. Closed up with glue, no stitches. She now has a lump where the incision was. It is not red or warm. Kind of odd shaped. She runs around, jumps on the couch, binks, so I don’t think it hurts. Just wondering if I should be concerned and take her in.

        Thanks!

I would definitely bring it to the attention of your vet. He or she might want to re-check her. When you’re concerned about something, let the vet know. Better to be safe than sorry. I don’t know if some of the glue hardened in an odd shape and if it will dissolve over time, if the incision has a raised edge where the scar is, or what, but I’d definitely ask your vet about it.

Olivia developed something similar a couple of weeks after her spay. I brought her in and the vet determined it was a small infection between layers of skin. She put her on oral antibiotics and it went away in about a week. So I would definitely bring her in; better safe than sorry. Hopefully your vet will just charge you for a re-check since the issue arrived due to the spay.

Most vets will look at the bunny again for no charge- as they like you would rather be safe than sorry.  But it could be a number of different things- swelling from bodys reaction to internal suture, etc.  I would call them and ask to get your bunny in for the vet to take a peek- I would be surprised if they charged for a vet visit- but if any other medications are needed there is usually a charge for those.
