I need some help- i have 3 female rabbits and i want them to like eachother but lately they hate eachother. There previous owner said that she never put the females together. When i put 1 of my girls with pebbles she bites them. And Miilo and Pebbles try to fight eachother through the wire. Pickles loves every rabbit though but they dont like her… I dont know what to do.. my rabbits are getting very very lonely.

Are your bunnies spayed? Females can be veeeery territorial. In order for them to live together, they need to be spayed and introduced slowly in a neutral area until they get used to each other. There are some bonding articles on this forum that are very useful. Here is the binkybunny page on it: https://binkybunny.com/BUNNYINFO/BondingInfo/tabid/63/Default.aspx

Here’s another article from the HRS: http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/introductions.html

I know that bonding more than 2 rabbits can be quite trickier. Hopefully some other members with more experience can help you.

Definitely get them spayed first. Its near impossible to bond unspayed girls

well, my family isnt exactly what people would call- Animal People- and getting the rabbits spayed cost too much so i dont know… i have a guinea pig so i guess that will have to do….

Ah, my parents aren’t animal people either, which is why I got my rabbits after I left home and went to college. When I come home, they have to tolerate the rabbits’ presence. Spaying can be cheaper if you can look around at different places in the area that offer it. I looked around my area and some places had prices as high as $340 for a spay. I managed to get my girl Lago spayed for free because I was fostering rabbits with the SPCA. I know there was a shelter in the county next to mine that had spays for $60 and neuters for $30 for rabbits but I wasn’t eligible because I don’t live in that county. It’s not always horribly expensive to spay/neuter. Maybe you can work out a deal with your parents? My boyfriend helped me pay for my boy Panko’s $240 neuter for my birthday.

Even a guinea pig bonding to a female unspayed rabbit could be dangerous.. and potentially even more expensive due to resulting vet bills due to injuries. I would advise against it.

Keep them separate to prevent serious bite injuries. Intact females would require an enormous size of space to get to coexisting, never ever cage these three together. Sometimes an individual female is very submissive and able to bond with another without spaying but you will see much marking against one another and territorial disputes off and on. In order to turn your rabbits into pet rabbits they need to be spayed, it will allow them to be bonded closely, and it will allow you to littertrain them and it will protect them from cancer. Spaying will also make your females less aggressive towards you. I would start by getting one spayed and save up over time to get them all done. As it is now, you always have to worry what would happen if they escaped and went to war against each other.

I have a follow up to this: I do realize this thread is old but I have three female dwarfs. Two are sisters and have no problem with each other, but the third is a rescue and although she does just fine on her on, she plays and plays, and the two sisters do fine together, they play and play. But the rescue is beating up on the two sisters whenever I place them together. the two sisters don’t fight with her though. Should I still consider spaying all three or just the rescue since she seems to be the aggressor?

All three bunnies should be spayed+one month before bonding.
