For the first time today, I noticed that Lolli takes like up to a minute or longer to poop.  She does not look like she’s straining or anything like that.  In fact, I just now noticed because all the other times she was sitting in her litter box for so long I thought she was just hanging out.    But today I saw that she was actually pooping.  Is it normal for them to take a while to go?

I guess I’m just used to them sitting someplace and then hopping off with some poops left behind as a nice little present for me.

I’ve never really noticed exactly how long… but right after I clean boxes, they do love to hop in and leave a pile of about 20 poops. I think as long as they’re the right size, I wouldn’t worry too much. Maybe she’d been holding it for awhile?

well it’s possible that she might be having trouble getting it out. Is there anything new you have been giving her.

Mine sit in the box for quite a while after breakfast and supper.   They leave a nice pile of poo then hop off.   Or eat hay for a while.  If they are normal and she isn’t straining this should be normal.

Dutchess will hop in to pee and hop out. When she poops she’ll sit there for 20 seconds to a few minutes, munching some hay or what not. I think maybe because they have so many poops to poop, it takes a little bit for the newer ones to come down and out. I wouldn’t be worried about it unless she’s straining or it takes her like five minutes to do one poop.

Ok…it’s so new with her now that she’s an only bun! lol I was just making sure she was fine.

Sigh. I’m learning she’s picky about her lettuce. And she takes a while to poop. I wonder what else I’ll learn.
