Do your bunnies share litterboxes, or do they each have their own that they use?

Most bonded rabbits are fine sharing the same litter box – you may want to have a larger size box though that 2 can use at the same time like a large cat litter box.

It can take time for some rabbits to tolerate sharing of litterspace so at times you might need a second one to help peaceful relations along.

My bonded pair shares. They have two side by side and typically only one rabbits goes in one box at a time, but sometimes they’ll sit in the big one together. For a time I only used the big one and they shared it just fine – I only added the second to give them more space too pee and give me more time between cleanings.

                 Thanks everyone.

I’m just thinking ahead for when the girls no longer have to be separated.  Right now Nibbles has a litterbox in her pen (which she no longer needs, but I keep it there anyway) and a big litterbox in her side of the room.  Maddie also has a big litterbox on her side.  I was planning on keeping all litterboxes, but was wondering how it would play out if one used the other’s.  I think the more litterboxes the better, and I do scoop them out every day.  I have to scoop the cat’s out everyday, so what’s a few more?

I do the same.  They have two side by side… one houses their hay rack, one is just litter.  They both use each box equally.  I wanted two for additional space.  I suppose I could just get rid of the two boxes and get one large rectangle “under-the-bed” storage container to provide the same space, but it would be more difficult to clean.

I think sometimes people want to only provide one box so they can house two buns in a smaller space, but once they are bonded, remember that you want to increase their permanent living space.
