We planted our winter garden a few weeks ago and the mustard greens are going crazy! they are everywhere! lol I was wondering if they were OK to feed to Basil? or are they in the “no no” veggie category? My dad grabbed a handfull and went to shove it in his cage and I was like in slow motion running and saying NOOOOOOO!! LOL he looked at me weired and rolled his eyes and said I forgot “Precious” only eats expensive greens from the health food store huh? well kinda but I want to be safe than sorry! So do I get a green light on the mustard greens?

They are fine. If Basil approves of them.

My buns don’t like them as much as collard greens, but they are safe.

This is a good source for what is acceptable for bunnies.  The first link is for veggies, second for fruits & last one for toxic plants.  The HRS site is an excellent source of information.  If I don’t find it on their lists, the bunz don’t get it!  Good luck…

My bunny loves all dark leafy greens, and the bitter greens including mustard greens. Dark leafy greens are also one of the healthiest things for humans to eat, and what a lot of people never get! So the bunny is helping me by making sure I always have greens in the house. He gets a couple days’ worth out of each bunch, and I boil the rest for 5 minutes and then saute them in soy sauce and garlic for myself.
