My bunny Kiwi is losing a lot of fur.  I adopted him in Aug. and he started losing fur about a month ago.  He is still shedding!  He doesn’t like the brushes that I have, so I have been wet hand petting and plucking.  I can get big chunks of fur everytime I pet him.

He doesn’t have any bare spots yet, but how much longer can he lose fur without being naked?  He’s very happy eating and running around with Tansy.  He has lost some weight, but he was kind of chunky after eating only pellets at the shelter.  Now he gets fresh veggies, hay, water and pellets for treats.  And lots and lots of excersise!  They are crazy buns together (especially at 3 am &#160

Are his moulting and weight loss related?  Is this normal or should I be worried?

Molting can look wild and last over a month, six weeks even. You should start seeing new fur tips growing in if you look closely. The weight loss may well be the result of the improved diet. If he is acting healthy I would not worry about it. I suppose fur-regrowth takes more protein so you could treat him a bit with extra pellets, a pinch only though.
