So i was just bringing my bunny out to play and while he was hopping about, i noticed something red. I checked his hind legs but they seem fine, until i pushed away the fur at the end bit. His feet are pinkish red with white ‘stuff’ as you can see in the picture below. Are these what they call sore hocks? Should i be worried? There is no fur growing there but there is fur that surrounds it and covers it. Tomorrow I will be taking him to the vet to get his yearly vaccination, at the same time i will be asking about this. I just want to know beforehand if it’s anything serious though. It’s on both of hind legs, one less pinkish red than the other. Oh and he is a Netherland dwarf just under a year and half old. Thanks!

these are not sore hocks. Sore hocks are inflamed sores. The pink bumps are normal, you just don’t see them easily unless you move the fur apart.

My Vet calls that natural bunny wear and tare.
I have bunnies that have been on carpet and shavings their whole lives and still have those bald spots.

Those look fine. The white part is probably callous. If it’s pink, tough skin, it’s fine. Just make it part of your weekly maintenance to check those spots because there is always the possibility they could get irritated. If they ever become sore looking, red, inflamed or chapped you need to get them checked out and make changes to your bunnies habitat. My bun Stormy has had spots that look similar to your buns for 6 years and never had any problems.
