I am feeding Eyore according to what the HSR was feeding him and according to pkg.  But there was another thread where some of you were suggesting backing off qty of pellets.  Eyore is 10.5 lbs and get 1/2 cup of pellets twice a day.  I wanted to make sure that sounded ok bc I don’t want him to get overweight esp bc he is not really that active.  He acts starving when it is time for pellets again, but he munches on them kind of sporadically over a period of time.

I would not change his diet if it’s working. He’s not overweight now and if he maintains his current weight then his diet is fine.

I have always been told about 1/4c per 5-6lbs of body weight, so by that metric he should be getting only about 1/2c per day. Was he getting veggies at the HRS? Most shelters can’t afford to feed veggies, so need to feed more pellets. How is his hay intake? Decreasing pellets even a small amount can really increase hay intake, which is so good for their digestion.

Sorry it is 1/4 cup am and pm. The HRS feeds all the bunnies veggies, I don’t know how they afford it either. He loves his hay. I could finally tell he has been going on his 2nd level bc I have a hay basket up there to and it has been turned over.

If it’s 1/2c per day, then that sounds pretty good to me, especially if he’s a good weight and is doing well on it.
