Poor little Cotton Boo.    I did the 3x a day med on his lip.  3 days later I noticed his poos were small and he only picked at his pellets.  Picked at his hay.

So I decided to go back to every 3 days.   Don’t want him upsetting his little tum tum.    Maybe he ingested too much of the med and upset his tum tum.    Or he stressed himself out

I need to call the vet and let her know.    His lip does look better though.

Yes hurrah.   HE does this about 7 or 8 days into treatment.   Don’t know if it is stress or he keeps licking the med off.

The vet said good that I stopped treatment.  She wants me to start 1x a day and work up to 2 x a day.   See how that goes.  Hmmm.  If his lip was gona get well I think it would have already.   His lip does look better and it looked better at 3 days then it did with the other meds.

Next time I bring him in I am going to have a harness n leash on him so he can’t fly off the table and hit the door.

Oh, glad he’s eating better! It’s so scary when they lose their appetite- since BunBun’s GI stasis, my heart drops whenever he doesn’t absolutely dive into his food. Sounds like Cotton’s on the mend- hope his lip keeps looking better! Medication is such a double-edged sword with these small animals. If the med is just not doable anymore because of Cotton’s tummy, one thing that one of my hamster expert friends advised for wound care is to boil thyme leaves, let the leaves steep like tea unti the water cools down, then dip a clean cloth or paper towel in the “thyme tea” and apply to the wound. Thyme is supposed to be a natural antiseptic and decongestant. Hamsters can drink the thyme tea, but before you apply it to Cotton’s lip, I would doublecheck that rabbit’s can also ingest it.

Thats interesting. I think they can have thyme. Lots of herbs they can have.  I will check to make sure though
