I was speaking with some members a few weeks ago about ways to keep bunnies cool and the subject of room coolers came up -machines that cool a single room. Not air conditioners, mind you – I believe they were said to use water to cool? I want to find out more about these because the things I heard about them in that thread were really encrouraging and I’m strongly considering investing in one for my bunnies before I move into my apartment!I’ll have air conditioning in my apartment of course but I’d like to economize wherever I can, and here in Florida an electric bill for someone who is keeping their entire apartment at 75 degrees 24/7 will be killer.

So has anyone here have experiences with room coolers like that? If so do you have any tips for which ones to buy or not to buy/ how well they work, etc?

Would it have been an evaoprative cooler? Those are efficient, though only effective to a point in humid climates. Other ways to make a difference is window coverings and extracting the warm air out from the top off the room. Do you have a way you could do that at the apartment?

Never heard of one? We run our air conditioner 24/7 for about 4 months a year (Can get to abotu 33 C or higher here) and then heat the other eight months and it’s really not bad. I think one month is about 150$ or so? We couldnt’ go without that’s for sure-but yeah it’s not expensive really. The portables are to buy but work really well. But let us know if you figure out what it is-that sounds pretty cool!
