My bunny wont stop digging the tiles in a specific corner for the last 10 minutes! Haha it’s so goofy! She digs and digs and then does a move like she’s pushing the “dirt” under her!! Dont they get it that digging on tiles is pointless??lol

No. They don’t. It’s such a natural behavior for them. My buns when in plastic bottom cages would always dig in the corners. It might partially be a “I’m gonna dig my way out of here!” behavior. Does she have a diggy box?

Instructions are here. It’s really not difficult. I don’t even pre=shred the newspaper. I just take individual sheets, crumple them up, and stuff them in an old pet carrier that I took the door off of. The buns will dig and shred it themselves. Be aware, some buns will use a diggy box as a litterbox too.

I hate that noise of a rabbit trying to dig out of a plastic-bottom cage. It must be so frustrating to them!

ME TOO!!!  Especially b/c they always started at 5am when I was trying to sleep!  Meadow was only in the plastic-bottom cage for the first 6 months, after that she had the cage and an attached xpen.  Once Max came, the cage went bye-bye permanently.  I don’t miss the cage at all.

I want to play that noise recorded to the people who designed those commercial cages for rabbits to live in permanently. I want to play it to them at 5 a.m. every morning.

LOL.. “Thank you Hartz for the bunny cage. Please find my gift to you in the form of a recording for you to play at 5am EVERY morning. Have a great day!”

Baby loves to dig in the same spot, that is not a corner, in the front of his pen. He has SO much to actually dig in… but he likes the lino i guess   My Bun’s (mostly Baby) love to dig in blankets, maybe offer your bun one of those till you can get a dig box made.

My Bunnies Dig-box is a cat litter box with the lid, filled with all sorts of stuff.

Zeus digs the carpet when he wants attention.  ie, if I’m petting him, then I stop petting, he’ll DIGDIGDIGDIGDIGDIGDIGDIGDIGDIG!!, then look up at me expectantly.

Bella loves to dig! We always ask her if “She is digging to China?”. She will look up at us like how dare you interrupt me and keep going back at it. The more newspaper to dig in the better!

Haha when my bunny digs for a long time we ask her “how’s the hole going? getting deeper?”…

When my bunnies are out I give them two old large towels to play with and they really like to “dig” and chew little holes in them. It keeps them from destroying other things like the carpet plus its really fun to watch. A roll of toilet paper can be a very fun toy aswell. I will upload a video tomorrow if i have time to edit it.

Bee was digging in tile at 5am today. I asked her where she was going and gave her a raisin and went back to bed. She’s been SO diggy lately. I’m going to bring a box home tonight and make it a dig box for her.
