        CAUTION: Major rant ahead…next 10 miles…

We were scheduled to go to town for shopping this morning, since my son will be home on Sunday from college and I wanted to be sure to pick up a few things before he got home.

My morning turned into afternoon when I didn’t wake up for my alarm. Plus it was raining. Shouldv’e just gone back to bed then and there.

So it’s rush-rush-rush to get the dog walked/fed/medicated, bunnies cleaned and daughter up and dressed. Just before we left, I was trying to pull a stud earring off one of my voluminous plushies on my bed (hey, when I go to bed and forget to take off my earrings, I hate having to get up and cross the room for my jewelry box, so I just pop them onto whatever plush is nearby) and I LOST THE BACKING…it falls from my useless hands into FIVER’S HAY BASKET! *GASP!*

I then have to hold up the family more by frantically searching through the hay and tipping his basket out and refilling it, plus searching through the (thank God, just cleaned) litterbox to see if it jumped in there. No sign of it. It’s just gone and I still haven’t found it.

So we get out the door and hub tells me, “Oh btw, Kitty (outdoor cat) has a sore or abscess or something on her bum, look at it for me?”

I take a look…well it’s an open wound. Right near the anus. (sorry, gross, I know) Looks like someone literally tore her a new one. So we make calls while on the way down the road, we’d hoped to make an appointment for her the next day since we were already on our way out. Can only get her in if we bring her right now (hogeeze…ER charge) otherwise she’d have to wait days. Well, she needs her shots anyway, so back we go to pick her up and take her in now. (this is with the dog in tow and Kitty HATES riding in the car)

So after a moment’s hassle getting her in a carrier (hubby is already hurting from doing some plumbing work yesterday-my kitchen sink is out) we get going and Kitty is SCREAMING and rolling and throwing herself around the carrier the whole way in. I’m thinking our shopping is going to be postponed, we can’t possibly make her put up with being in the car all day, she is livid. But we finally arrive and drop her off at the vet-hub takes me and daughter (and doggie) to Barnes & Noble and drops us off to go back and be with Kitty.

We do our stuff there and walk over to PETCO…it’s taking some time so I call him. Apparently Kitty will be out for 2 hours, they have to stitch her up and she needed anesthesia.

So we still got to do some shopping. It isn’t till afterwards when we go back for her that we find out she had a 3/4 inch gash and still no real idea how it happened.

Anyway, the whole day was a rush job getting stuff done, I forgot innumerable thigns at the store that I needed and we just went back to get Kitty and go home. I was hoping she’d still be groggy from the anesthesia, but no, she’s wide awake and PISSED. Hub thinks she’s going to hurt herself in the carrier twisting around and fighting to get out as she was, so while we’re driving home, he lets her out to walk through the car. (I did warn him….)

Now Kitty abhorrs car travel of any kind. The last time he tried to take her anywhere, she peed on his arm. You can see where this is going, right?

So she wanders the car and settles down for a bit, we think, “Cool, she’ll ride better out of her carrier.” Yeah…spoke too soon…  She comes up and sits in his lap about halfway home and urinates all over him and the seat. We furiously try to get it cleaned up, but it’s no use trying to get her back in the carrier…. Needless to say, he was not pleased, and who could blame him?  But seriously, what did he expect? (any further description of his reaction would have to be heavily censored-use your imagination)

Top this all of with she has to stay confined to the house for a week. Kitty likes being outside. Hubby will have to deal with her yowling to be let out all night now for 7 days. He is beyond angry, plus the bill was almost $300. (I paid that anyway.)  And I was thinking I would take the buns in for a checkup this next week, but now I’m going to have to wait.

I would say we coulnd’t possibly have had a worse day than today, but I don’t dare because God would take that as a personal challenge…

Anybody else having a bad day? Add your rants here! (please…it’ll make me feel better…)

          Oh no Mimzmum!!!

And do I have a rant for you!  Well not me per say but my boyfriend.  He’s been having car trouble for nearly a year now – he has an 01 Ford Mustang GT.  I told him his problem is that he buys American cars.  (I drive a Honda Accord)  Hehe.  His Mustang has been having some problem with the brakes… as in, they don’t work!  It’s been in and out of the shop, and of course those sneaky, lying, dirty, low-down, good-for-nothing mechanics always try to squeeze every penny out of you for unnecessary work… so he’s spent I don’t know how many hundreds or possibly even thousands of dollars on this car (I DID tell him to just get a new one) as well as on his Camero that he’s fixing up as well as on his Ford truck…. Anyway, back to the Mustang.  So the auto shop he’s been taking his car to obviously hasn’t fixed the problem.  My bf knows exactly what’s wrong with the car, he just hasn’t had time to do it himself, and he’s been telling the mechanics what to do and instead they go off and do something else, overcharge him for it, and for a time, the problem is fixed.  And then it comes back again, so he’s bascically driving without brakes.  Yikes!  Well today was the mother of all bad days… the brakes weren’t working but they were rubbing and getting really hot.  And sitting right above the brakes is the fuel tank.   Yeah.

He was just a few miles from his house when the car caught on fire!  Sheesh.   He’s fine and he got it put out somehow and had the car towed to the shop (I’m hoping a different one than he normally goes to, lol).  I don’t know how bad the damage is becasue I haven’t seen it, but man… I’m sure there are a whole bunch of plastic bits that are melted and I’m sure the paint job is absolutely ruined.  I don’t know where he’s going to go from here – maybe the insurance company will just total it so he can get a new car.  I think he should sue the auto shop for not doing their job for like the zillionth time in a row – I mean seriously, it seems like every time I turn around he has that car in the shop and yet they can never fix it..

I love Mustangs and would love to have one some day just to cruise around in but… I much prefer my Honda

Ouch! Bad days for both of you!

Men, I swear. You DID warn him MM, its silly to let a kitty out of a carrier who HATES car travel. What was your hubby thinking? *shakes head*

And Barbie.. I’d totally sue the repair place too. What was your bf paying them for? To take a vacation?

Good grief you 2. Sounds like one heck of a day!

Mimz I couldn’t help chuckle about your cat and your hubby in the car – letting her out, then getting peed on. You are so descriptive in your writing and I can see the entire thing happening. I really think you should consider writing – any kind.

Barbie – I have a mustang, and I also had break problems. My dad claims it’s from me driving with my emergency brake on all the time…but I didn’t think I did that too much >.>

MB, yea, I’m sure they were living it up on his car repairs alone, lol. I don’t know exactly what the situation is we don’t talk about it too much other than a “my car’s in the shop, I’m driving the truck today” (it’s an LDR… he’s about 200 miles away) so I can’t say for sure if he has a case or not but… I hope he does! From what I’ve heard, I think he does, but then again, I’m not a lawyer, lol.

Lintini, well this one is an automatic, so he doesn’t use the emergency break too much anyway – at least, not that I’ve noticed. But who knows? *shrug*

And yes, I love reading Mimz’s stories, very descriptive!

lolz…Yeah, well, I have to be careful I don’t get TOO descriptive…lmao. I have a a tendency to let my fingers run off at the mouth. ^_^

                  Hogeeze, Barb…that IS a bad day! 0_o; He’s lucky it didn’t explode!

Tell him I feel his pain. I’ve almost always driven Mustangs, so I can understand the love for them, back in the 70’s they were a rather well-made car. My first was a white ’73 and I drove it till the wheels fell off. Still miss it.
But today, EVERYTHING is plastic and fiberglass, crumples easily and burns like a gas-soaked pyre. Scary! Too bad it isn’t a Toyota, he might have some recourse. My hub was a mechanic, he wrenched for years…so when he had to start having other people fix his cars because of his back, it was always bad news. One of our local dealers literally had people watch out for him coming in because they didn’t want to see him…they’d suddenly take lunch, no matter the time of day! And it’s well known how ‘professional mechanics’ will screw you over on repairs, then loosen something or other so you have to come back and do more…it’s like drugs…at some point you have to just say NO! ^_^

My biggest worry right now though, is where that stupid earring backing went? I am certain it wasn’t in Fiver’s pen, even if I didn’t have a lot of time to search-I made sure it wasn’t in obvious reach in case I missed it…but still, I even went through the hay I bagged up to throw out that was in his basket and still no sign of it! Being OCD doesn’t help the situation and my largest concern is that I missed it and he did find it and (God forbid) swallowed it. (I suppose it’s small enough it could go through without causing trouble, but still….*shudders* )

I’m guessing it’s fallen somewhere under the bed…in which case I won’t find it again until we move. >.<
It’s just a bad day. Going to cross this one off my calendar and never do anything on it again, I swear! lmao….

Mimz really tho..have you ever considered writing? I really think you have a gift. Seriously I get lost in your stories and I can see them happening in my head. That doesn’t happen to me too often, I don’t really enjoy reading (most of the time because its for school) but you really have a way with words. Have you ever published anything before or written in a news article or the local paper? I think others would love to read your writing.

Mimz, you know you can buy replacement backings… now if the earrings were special or sentimental, it won’t be the same, but you can get them in gold or silver or whatever to match and at least it will do the job.

                        Hi, MM,

I guess it was in the air yesterday, because my morning was as screwy as I had anticipated. (at midnight, two and 3 in the morning when I couldn’t sleep the night before.) The work I was pulled off my franetic job to do as I had described to you in my email, got worse. I started to write details just now, but you know, it’s over with and I’d like to forget it. Suffice to say that I was running around in one building, leaving my boss to contend with what we wanted me to be doing in the other building, while I gave a wonderful volunteer a fast training so she could take over for me in the tour (trial by fire) for the second hour because the tour arrived a half hour late. We moved stuff into the shelves in the finished gallery, only to be told to move it out again an hour later because they weren’t REALLY finished. And a person who didn’t show for 2 appointments sent someone to come after all right in the middle of all this rescheduling madness. Fortunately, by the end of the day my boss and I looked at each other, a bit dazed, and said “what a day. This is madness!” I corrected her. It’s been like this for 2 weeks. I think I would have welcomed a kitty who peed on me if I could just have a kitty to hug. Although, my very clean Sammy has decided just this week to stand up and eat her hay out of the hay bin OUTSIDE the cage, so she leaves a pile of poos on the rug where she’s munching. Yesterday it was wet…

Your bad day was worse, not question. I just hope I didn’t send my bad cloud up your way. Meanwhile, Hello Kitty is better. My guess is an over-amorous raccoon.

It must have been in the air yesterday because I was feeling it too! Not to the extent that Mimz and Barbie did but it was still frustrating. My husband and I are starting the house search. We found one that we absolutely love! And things had been falling into place and working so well! The house we are in love with has a first floor office/den that would work PERFECTLY for the bunny room and it still has 3 bedrooms upstairs so we can still have guests over and eventually have a family without worrying about where the bunnies are going to go.

So for the preapproval process I needed to prove that my student loans will not have to be paid back and are defered for a year so they are not counted. I call the student loan company and since I consolidated my undergrad loans they now have no grace period and the first payment will be due 30 days after I graduate which would mean payments would start May 1st. So, since it’s May 14th they now have to be included in my income/debt ratio. Which brings our approval amount down 25k under the asking price of the house. It seems out of reach now.

I do have an awesome mortgage guy who helped me find and scrape up every penny I made and he somehow managed to use my overtime and bonuses to wash the student loan to bring us back up to only 10k under the asking price. So it put is back into reach for us! This was the good news for the day….

Now we figured we’d have to move more quickly so the other student loans won’t count so we start asking friends and family if anyone wants to take over a lease to our apartment so we can move into the house sooner rather than later. My husbands work friend immediately says “i’m definatley interested, can I come over tonight and look?” So I spend my day cleaning (last week) so it will look nice for her visit. Well, at the end of the work day she doesn’t “feel good” and takes a raincheck….fine, at least my apartment is clean but I rush cleaned just for her visit and was exhausted.

So, earlier this week she reschedules for yesterday. I spend my whole evening last night and my morning cleaning up again for her visit. My husband comes home and I ask “Where’s Shannon?” And his response….”Oh, she’s not coming…she’s not even interested anymore.” When he asked her at the end of the work day if she was stopping over she said “No, I’m tired i’m just heading home. I don’t think I’m going to take the apartment anymore, you didn’t think I was really that interested, did you?” Well, of course we did! We were counting on her taking it. I even got her an application to fill out when she saw it. She is a very flakey person so I shouldnt have counting my chickens before they were hatched….

So now we have the perfect house just sitting there on the market, we are stuck in our apartment till our lease is up end of October and have to get into a house and a contract in by September so the student loans don’t count. I really hope it doesn’t sell but it’s such a great steal that I’m really worried about losing it!

In closing, if anyone lives around Cleveland, Ohio and is looking for an apartment in the Strongsville, Ohio area…Please private message me!! 2bd 1.5 bath, 900+ sqft 2 huge walk in closets…..I’m willing to try anything at this point!!!

Thanks for listening to me vent too!!

I’m sorry you all are having such bad days! Definitely sounds worse than mine. Although, as I predicted, I can’t say I got to bed that night without having one more terrible thing happen.
We’ve been planning on getting Fiver’s nails trimmed after doing Pip’s a few days ago. So that night I decided to go ahead and take care of him. As I am pulling him out of his pen by the top loading door, he suddenly squirms out of my grasp and twists in the air, falling about 10 inches to the bed and banging some part of his rear body on the cage door coming down. 0_o;;; I was terrified that he had broken something, but fortunately he was alright and a good thing too, because it was about 1 in the morning.

We got his nails trimmed without further incident, but man…it was scary. We both had to have a spritz of Rescue Remedy to help get to sleep that night.
Which…btw…reminds me faintly of cognac. 0_o

The final straw is, even though my boy is coming home tomorrow, I am definitely feeling the first signs of the flu…so I’m going to be a bit of a wet blanket.
Where do you go to find earring backings in silver, Barbie? It’s definitely lost for good…I changed everything out and no sign of it.

Big hugs to all of us who are down in the dumps lately! ((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) Here’s to better times ahead!

(P.S. No raccoons in our part of AK, Pam. But yeah, I don’t think amour was involved in this injury anyway and MAN is she grumpy! As I would be also if I had 5 or 6 stitches in my rear end…in the shape of a “Z”…perhaps Zorro has been here?)

MM, this online store sells a variety of them

                                http://www.jewelrysupply.com/jewelr…ts_ss.html

I’ve never bought from them though, so I don’t know how good or bad the store is.

I also found some on Amazon and these are less expensive, but might not match the other earring back

                                http://www.amazon.com/Pair-Sterling-Silver-Earring-Clutches/dp/B000E0I940

A local jewelry store would probably have them too.

MM  about your earring…..     If you have a magnet you could run it over the litterbox to see if it is in there.   I have a grabber from back surgery when I couldn’t get down to the floor to pick things up  it has a magnet on it for that purpose.

Well not for digging in litterboxes but to get earrings off  the floor.

Oh dear so someone tore your cat a new  a$$ ;hole     rofl.    Sorry not funny but yeah kind of funny

Poor kitty.  Oh my 7 days of yowling to go outside.    So I take it hubby didn’t like his special kitty shower eh?

How did it go with your sons visit?

I hear you by the way about not wanting to get out of bed once in there.    My cell phone I put it by my side of the bed when it is charging cuz it beeps once charged.   That way I dont’ have to leave the bed just reeeeeach  over and pull out the cord.

I like your putting earrings on plushies when you forget thats smart.

Well, it would’ve been smarter if I had not tried to get the earring when we were already rushed to go out the door. That added to my intractable clumsiness.
The magnet would’ve been a great idea had I thought of it before I threw out all the litter and hay from that day. Ah well. It’s just a little piece of silver, not really sentimental, it’s just the free set you get from Greater Good Network for giving to the animals at the shelters. But since the earrings are set with the birthstone for March, which was when Shadow passed away, they have meaning in that regard…it’s like they just happened to have those as gifts after he was gone…like he was giving me a message.

My main concern was being sure Fiver did not swallow it. Which I’m almost 100% certain he didn’t…I was sure it wasn’t in the hay basket before we left. It may have bounced from there down to the floor, but it doesn’t really matter now, everything’s been changed out.

My son came home today, moved all his stuff back in. Well almost all. He’s off at the hub’s business where the internet is better, playing XBOX and chatting on Facebook. 0_o He had actually wanted to live in the dorms through summer, but I can’t afford that.

Daughter is fit to be tied. She already looks like a seething gargoyle because he’s here. >_< It's going to be a fun three months.

                                      Thanks for the links, Barbie!

I used to not get along with my brother too Mimz…we used to fight till there was blood. It was bad. And then one day we realized we could be friends. It was strange. It wasn’t till I was about 19-20 though. So…ok well not so long ago but still…hopefully things will change.

Mimz the other half of my toenail just came off and Bee binkied on the raw skin. I screamed and scared everyone. Ugh I wish the doctors cared more to see what was wrong. I might be going back this week. I had it before when my pinky nails and ring finger nails just randomly fell off. It was very very strange. No trauma, just fell off.

Tell your daughter to hang in there – she has a way cool puppy to talk to when things get tough!

Well son is 20, daughter is 18. Old enough to know better, both of them. You’d think they could just call a truce for 3 months…

Sorry to hear about your nail…bad BeeBee! *scowls* Mine is finally starting to look somewhat normal again, but it’s nothing like the other nail. I’m not happy with it. I should’ve been taking pix of it this whole time so I could present a case. Oh well. *shrugs*

Doctors…OY! Can’t live without ’em, can’t get a decent judgment in court.

Lol…we used to do some crazy things. We both had braces and used to try to scrap them against eachother when fighting. I am cracking up laughing picturing us doing it, I mean we must have looked like IDIOTS!!! Well we were idiots, we still are I think. I just was peaking at his cell phone and saw that he had my credit card in it and then a photo of the number on the back. God knows what he bought with it. I will get him back though…. I mean depending on what he bought, that could possibly deserve dog poop in his bed right? Or something to that caliber? (See you young mom’s on the forums – this is what you get to look forward too when yours are older teens- early 20’s)

See…I guess we still don’t exactly get along 100%

Erm…0_o;;; I am pretty much speechless after that, Lin… lolz…..

Yeah, I think you should hide your credit cards better than that, hm? What unbelievable cheek! It better be something nice for you that he spent your money on! ^_^

Right now it’s the language problem with my son that is getting on my nerves…he comes back from college with a whole new vocabulary and I have to remind him it’s not kosher here.

But mostly, daughter just wants to throttle him. She hasn’t been able to stand living in the same zip code with her brother for quite a few years now. Just a lot of bad blood between them. Let’s just say, he can be a pain in the neck and she’s got no tolerance for it.

LOL yea I know it’s a funny sight to picture…can’t believe we used to do that either!

It’s hard going off to college, you sons trying to figure out who he really is, it’s a huge change from leaving home and being off on your own, then having to move back for the summer, it’s a lot of change! I wish I could remember more when my brother and I just started getting along. I remember he stayed for a week with me over the summer, I was 19 and he was 14. That was when we started getting along, I had gotten a kitten and my apartments had a pool. We just started becoming friends instead of enemies. ( I think my mom must have called us 5 times a day to make sure I was feeding him LOL) I have hope that they will snap out of it like my brother and I did. It was random and seemed to happen overnight.

Me too. But sadly, my own dad & his sis still hate each other enough to live on opposite sides of the country from one another, and they’re in their 60’s. I fear this may be how it is with my two.

I’ve almost always driven Mustangs, so I can understand the love for them, back in the 70’s they were a rather well-made car. My first was a white ’73 and I drove it till the wheels fell off. Still miss it.

my boyfriend has a green ’73 coupe. we’re dropping a new motor in it this summer! very excited. =) they’re fantastic cars.
