Mother’s Day

So I was kind of lame on ideas for mothers day. I wanted to split the cost of a coach purse with my dad but we waited too long to order one and I work all week and don’t have time to go to the mall.

 

So I decided to make her jewelry. I know I made her a set for Xmas but…what else could she want. She has everything, plus…mother’s day screams home-made keepsakes for gifts anyways. So here are some photos. They are swarovski crystals. very pretty. Again, my cam can’t do the color justice, and flash makes is worse. Oh well – you can get the idea of what I made!

These are my favorite earrings out of the ones I made, but I doubt my mom wears them much, these are more my style but I thought they were pretty. Who knows, maybe they will be her favorite too. I never can tell with her!

I spent about 2 hours making them. The hardest part is actually going to the store and figuring out what I want. I just go on the fact that her favorite color is blue, and that gemstones are her favorite, but she already had all the polished gems that they sold there. I suppose I could have gone with turquoise but I am not confident working with stone. I never know what to use with it.

We’ve got more gems and beads than I know what to do with. I would actually be interested in making some for you guys if you were interested. If you could tell me your favorite color for the gems and if you like silver or gold for the posts/chain/spacers etc and your mailing address in a private message here I could have fun with that. Unfortunately I do not have any bunny charms or anything bunny like though. I pretty much have any color imaginable, lots of sparkly gems, natural stones, gem stones, sea glass, glass, some wooden beads, animal print beads, seed beads, etc. I will probably only be able to make earrings depending on how many people are interested.

Oh Lintini, those are beautiful. She’s going to be so thrilled. Handmade gifts are so special!! I made my Mom a stole for Mother’s Day and just mailed it to her.

Have you ever thought about selling your work on etsy? You are obviously very talented!!

Those are beautiful, you are very talented. The photographer I used to work for would take jewelry outside, under shade, to shoot photos if he didn’t want to go to the studio. You get enough light to shoot without flash so no glares. (make sure it’s solid shade, not dappled from a tree…lol)
