It’s that season again, baby wildlife season.  New buns, squirrels, and deer.  Kitten season as well….

Was on a message board and someone found a baby squirrel and asked what to do.  Someone suggested it taking it from the wild, bottle feeding it and so forth.  Well what I’ve learned in the past week with attending a local humane society meeting, was that baby wild animals are rarely left abandoned.  Mother might be foraging or hunting.  Mother might have carried one of the litter to a safe place and kept the rest of the litter in the spot you found them, waiting to come back til for the ‘abandoned’.  So to be patient and wait to see if she comes back.  If she doesn’t then call a LICENSED wildlife rehabilatior.  They are there for a reason…

        Just wanted to rant.
