It started out innocently enough – a tiny bunny needed a good home – husband surprises wife with tiny bunny – they already have a cage for bunny – everything is perfect.  Then, wife goes on BinkyBunny to converse with other bunny lovers and to see what is new in the house rabbit world.  The bunny people get upset because cage is too small so wife reoutfits giant wire dog kennel and gives bunny BindiTime outside of the cage every night.  Wife secretly thinks the bunny people are a little daft because they devote whole rooms to their pets.  Well, I hope you have room for another convert.  Introducing……..Bindi’s Kitchen!!!

Miracles of Miracles!!  I just went to put Bindi to bed and she was on the other side of the kitchen.  She heard the tiny scoop in the pellets and I said, “Treat, treat.”  (We’ve been practicing this word) and she came bounding over, jumped in her cage and settled down to munching pellets.  I can’t believe it….Finally – no more Bunnicula!! YAY, is right, Brittany!

AV, I would totally let her have the whole house, but before that happens there has to be a whole lot of Bunny Proofing going on.  Hopefully, if she keeps coming to me when I say “Treat”, her space will expand.  She was impossible to catch – even in the small confines of my bedroom – we’re talking hours of foot flicking (from both of us ).  But, we’ve definitely turned the corner.

Well, Monkey, I’m not saying that y’all aren’t daft – I’m just saying I have now joined you in your daftness .  Another thing I have learned from this forum is that all the hoopla about the bunnies like variety and love having their homes redecorated is just an excuse for people to build more play pens, NIC condos, x-pen configurations, etc.  It IS really addicting!  Now I see  potential bunny furniture and toys in every day life.  Somebody help me stop the madness

Sorry can’t help you I am totally addicted to buns.    And yes I see potential bunny things mine can play with or use when I see things.   Especially boxes lol.

Welcome to our daft bunny addictions club

Actually, Bindi has a fleece banky in her loft – that would be the lovely green thing.  She also has a bright pink one and a royal blue.

I was wondering if Bindi was going to chew the fleece to shreds, but she loves lying up there all sprawled out and has not chewed them yet.

K&K, I know what you mean about the towels.  I started out with special Bindi towels, but inevitably I would just grab one out of the linen closet and it would become a new Bindi towel.  I guess I have to get new ones, too.

I love her new setup! Welcome to the world of the crazy bunny people 😛

Otto loves his fleece too. I just go to the fabric store, buy a yard of it, then cut it up into 3 equal pieces. I use them to line his cage, make a walkway on the scary wood floors, and, his favorite, I’ll throw one on top of him. He burrows out, but as soon as his nose is clear of the blanket he turns around and burrows back in. Silly bunnies and their fleece.

I work at a 1.50 japanese store. Some of the items are higher priced. I fell in love with the yellow plaid, and I got it for Chacha. She doesn’t like to lay in it. She just claws at it and it hasn’t ripped! She loves when I put hay in the blanket and hide it so she has to dig around at it I have put the blanket on her and I made she she was okay with it.. lol.

Thanks, El, I love her new set up, too!  It’s so easy and when she is in her kennel, I can fold the “fence” back next to the kennel and out of the way.   I bought 3 fleece roll up bankies at Old Navy at Christmastime for like $3.00 a piece and had them lying around and I gave them to Bindi and she loves them.  She seems to be so happy now and I am over the moon because she is starting to come to me for “treats” and as long as I don’t try to pick her up, we’re fine!

The kennel does make life much easier

The best part, Brittany, is I already had both the giant kennel and the smaller kennel that I took apart and made the “fence” out of.  I kept fretting about the NIC cubes, blah, blah, blah, then I just used my imagination and remembered the kennels that I wasn’t using for dogs right now and then DH cut me a board and some dowels to put her little loft up.   My life is a lot easier with her in the kitchen and I can concentrate on bonding with my bunny!
