Besides all of us obsessing over rabbits, what are everyone’s favorite things to do/collect?

I like to play my Nintendo DSi. Sometimes, I will play it while hanging out with my bunny  She will get a little curious and try to bite it.. but I don’t let her, lol!!

I also love to eat  I have a sweet tooth. Peanut Butter Cups, European Chocolate, Japanese candies  I’m also a big fan of drinking green tea.

Reading has always been good. Nothing else better than curling up with a good book before bedtime. I also like to snuggle with my stuffed animals (ironically.. mostly rabbits, hahaha).

Spidey, I love Beatles Rock Band!!

Spooning (that’s right, you heard me), reading, photography, watching sunsets, reading comics (mostly the web kind), gaming (especially World of Warcraft), wearing pajamas, making jewelry, knitting, sitting on the floor, cold weather, snow, listening to furious rainstorms, the colors green and blue, warm fuzzy socks, beautiful china, bubble baths, coffee, ice cream soup…

Seriously, I could go on and on. I try to fill my life with tiny pieces of therapy like these.

                Great thread : P

Buri I think you and I may be twin sisters who were separated at birth or something…I’d add my list but it’ll just be a repeat of yours!
I also like to sing, even though my voice went south years ago.
Playing piano. Haven’t touched a keyboard in ages (besides my computer one) since there never was time while I was raising the kids….now I’m too busy taking care of bunnies! ^_^
Fiver tries to fling my DSi all the time when he wants attention. I’m surprised there aren’t teeth marks through the top by now.

Wow Lintini, I wouldn’t have been able to play…I would have been too mesmerised by the building!
I wish I had favourite things but mostly it’s too hot here in the tropics for me to care bout anything. I love reading, and chilling with my bf and friends…boring lol but fun!
Oh and markets…I looove open air markets!

I love music, the older the better… especially Grateful Dead. Messing around on Facebook.
I have always been interested in celebrity gossip and politics (nowadays celeb gossip and political gossip is one in the same!)
I love to watch movies and read… I’ll read most anything. You never know what kind of random non-fiction book I will bring home from the library.
I don’t know what else… I’m never good at listing things when requested.

Like Lizzie said, I love coffee and pjs. I am very into comfy clothes and shoes. You won’t find me in dress clothes or high heels. I just recently got a pair of tennis shoes, my first non-Birkenstock shoes in a long while. I basically live in sandals or clogs. (This makes it interesting in the snow.)

oooo, lintini what a cool experience! i love the french horn.. wanted to play in junior high but the band director said i should play clarinet. i shouldn’t have listened to him. ended up enjoying playing clarinet but i still want to play french horn one day!! hehe (oh and trombone..)

i love art – i draw, paint, sculpt, and am learning ceramics currently. i didn’t discover that i had any visual artistic talent until i got to college, so going from not being able to draw to becoming a studio art major has been a really fun and exciting experience. i play around with photography a little bit but i don’t have any awesome 50+ year old cameras like Spidey.
architecture – was in architecture for 3 years and still adore it. i get lost online looking at buildings, reading articles, doodling on random pieces of paper.
i’m like you guys in that i love to read, get comfy, and snuggle up with a bunny (or sometimes a human.. if he’s being nice.. lol)
i love beer – trying new ones, drinking good stand-bys, and brewing my own. see the beer thread for more!
traveling – don’t get to do it as much as i’d like because i’m on a college budget, but i try to take at least one major trip every year. i love seeing new places, cultures, and trying new food.
cooking! i watch a lot of food network and spend time planning out meals and testing the culinary waters. i pick a lot of strange recipes (and many of them fail) but it’s worth it whenever you really pull together a great meal. very rewarding.
other random things in no order that i do/have done/like/want to do again – rock climbing, fashion, playing music, writing, visiting family, snooping around in abandoned places (and photographing them), designing and building a mardi gras float, marilyn monroe, old muscle cars, board games, and trying to stay sane.

i love hearing about everybody’s interests! they’re all so varied.

monkey, you make me miss counterstrike. i used to play for what seemed like days at a time. fun game.

and lizzie, there was a huge storm here last night and so i got to combine pajamas, spooning, AND thunderstorms! hooray!

                              Oo, fun thread!

I looove horses, and would have one of my own if I could. I’m not riding right now, but once I have a job again I’m hoping to take lessons. We can’t afford boarding a horse here ($1k+ per month) but I hope it’ll be affordable when we move somewhere cheaper.

I adore dogs as well. Can’t wait til we have a house so we can have a puppy! We actually got Otto as a puppy substitute (don’t tell Otto that!).

I play the cello. I did it from age 9-19, then quit for a few years. I played for a few months in 2006, then quit again. I just pulled my cello out again last week and I’m getting myself back in shape. My fingers hurt a lot! But it’s fun. Maybe if I can get up to a decent level again I can take some lessons.

Beer and wine are two of my true loves 🙂 I love nothing more than going to the store and picking out some new beers and wines to try out. My favorite thing with wine is finding a great value. I love to open up that $11 bottle and find something amazing. I also love how much there is to learn. I get a wine magazine and I’m always learning new things about new areas, new varietals, etc. I’ll kind of get excited about a particular type and drink only that for a few months, then move on to something else. I’ve actually considered going back to school for a masters in wine making (my college has a program that specializes in upstate NY wines).

Food is my other love. I love going out to eat at good restaurants and I love finding new places (though we’re admittedly too cheap to do this all the time). I love cooking at home too. There aren’t many foods I don’t like or won’t try. The only foods I’m picky about are sweet things. I really don’t have much of a sweet tooth, so there aren’t that many desserts I enjoy. Hoever, if it is something I enjoy, I’ll eat a ton of it! Haha. I made this lightly sweet, buttery Polish bread on Tuesday (it has golden raisins in it too) and I ate both loaves by Thursday  I have no willpower with certain foods!

I love reading. Nothing like a good book. I really like British lit from the 1800s for some reason (Dickens, Austen, etc), though I do enjoy fluffier books and non-fiction too.

                                 Oh yeah, I can’t believe I forgot!

Hockey! Red Wings, Uof M, I play goalie and am a goalie coach for a kids team…

Spidey, I love hockey! My school was a big hockey school and my dad’s side of the family all play. Unfortunately, I don’t really like to watch it on tv, but live hockey is the best!

I love the forest. I love its night calls from coyotes and spring peepers. I like things that are just there, naturally.
On a more civilized note, I like black tea with good conversation, and I care about my true friendships. I enjoy making things from scratch, not just food. I like pioneer crafts.

LizzieKnittyBun, I love your list. I too am a fan of sitting on the floor! haha.

I love most things creative and artistic. I draw, paint, sculpt, do ceramics, glass mosaics, sew, photography, and anything that I feel inspired to do or make.

Aquariums, fish, and aquatic plants are a big hobby of mine. Playing Spades and chess at the coffee shop at least one night a week, also dominos and other games with friends. I like to garden, cook, bake, drink coffee, spin on merry-go-rounds, be in the rain, all things having to do with water, read good books, listen to classical music, laugh uncontrollably, and occasionally rock out to some live music.

Really? What games do you play?

My bunny doesn’t fling things (I would LOVE to see her throw her toys sometime,.) But she definitaly loves to sniff and try to bite things that aren’t hers

I went to a few of their meetings while in high school. I had to have my best friend make the costumes though, my sewing has suffered over the years.

Buri, Animal Crossing and Pokemon are my big ones right now. I was going to enter the VGC’s for Heart Gold and Soul Silver this year, but I think I’ve gone way over budget with all the vet bills and probably won’t even make it to regionals.
I also get a kick out of the older Littlest Pet Shop games…just because some of the memory games you play to get money are really good for my chemo-brain.

I also like Boogie Bunnies, for the XBOX360.

Lintini…you’ve actually been TO Spain? *dies* My mother’s grandmother’s ancestors came from the Azores and I would love to see Spain, Portugal and the islands someday. *sigh*

I do all sorts of things.

My favorite thing is training my dogs I don’t know why but it calms me tremendously. Even those stubborn ones that no matter how many times they do a command right as soon as you are ready to show the owner or a family member they do the complete opposite. I train dogs for free since there are 0 trainers in my town and there is one dog Rowdy who is perfect when it is me and him but as soon as his owners are around I say ‘Sit’ he lays down say ‘Down’ he goes into a heel it drives me mad but I love it.

I love to read you hand it to me I will read it and I won’t stop reading it until the end. I turned my bedroom walls into like a mini library by having my stepfather build one giant set of shelves. I have books from the day I was born until now.

I am a writer by day it has been my passion since I was able to form actual words on paper. I have never had the guts to have anything published but a book I am working on now has caught the attention of a few companies so maybe one day.

Video games! I am such a gamer it is pathetic! Instead of buying things I need I buy games I have all the Nintendo consoles, Xbox 360, an ancient Atari, PS1-3, Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, Wii, Magnavox Odyseey (I am not even kidding LOL), Coleco Telstar Classic, Vectrex and my dad has found me a working Sega Master System II at a yard sale I will be picking up tomorrow. By far my favorite game is still Zelda I love love love that game! But right now I am addicted to Left for Dead 1 and 2 for the 360.

I am a math nerd so math is always fun for me. I actually take math classes at my local college for fun! Yeah I love math all math any math I want to learn it.

Anything outside. Hiking, Soccer, Rock climbing, Bouldering, Bungee jumping, running, my newest favorite thing is independently teaching my dogs search and rescue I am buying them new backpacks and “survival” kits in a few weeks.

I don’t know I love doing things I have a whole list of things I like to do you can find me hunkered down with a good book or knitting and the next day I will be on top of a mountain just me and a pack of dogs having the time of my life.

Oh Buri, I am so sorry to hear about your mom’s passing! ((((((hugs)))))) Ovarian is a hard one. The same year I was battling breast cancer, a neighbor of mine was dealing with ovarian cancer that had returned. She has since passed away, but she fought it well.

My mama (actually stepmom, but I didn’t know that until about a month before she passed) had pancreatic cancer. This was back in 81. We lost her a week after my 18th birthday. I was pretty scared getting my diagnosis, but things have come a long way since I was in high school and we were lucky we caught it early enough that I just need maintenance now.

Yeah, I am not sure if my poor memory now is due to the chemo or more due to the adjunct therapy I’ve been on for 5 years, but it’s pretty frustrating either way. >.<
So I guess another favorite thing of mine is when my head is on straight…lol….. You can tell it doesn’t happen often.

Yes, you can get both legendaries in either game, (along with most of the other pokemon) but the difference is that the fancy cut scene for each one is exclusive to it’s version (i.e., the big production for Ho-oh is in Gold, while the fancy scenes for Lugia are in Silver.). I loved the cut scene for Ho-oh, it’s all focused on the top of the Tin Tower, and the one for Lugia is in a deep subterranean cave and they’re all 3D….I won’t spoil it for you, it’s really neat though.
Gold was the first Pokemon game I ever played (my old Gold lost battery power and I lost my first Feraligatr with it) and so I was glad to see they re-released it.
I splurged last year and got the Japanese versions and I really hope the English are not too cheapened down. Can’t wait to put my event Pichu and Jirachi in and see the extras they open up. ^_^

Mimz – Ovarian is very very difficult My mom was Stage 4. She fought her hardest. She was only 52. It was definitaly too young. I got a tattoo to honor her – the teal ribbon with the Japanese character for “mother.” I think that there is a link in my family. My great aunt had it and passed in her 40’s, and now my mom. I am very pro health and have yearly check ups. I don’t want this evil thing!

I am glad to hear of your brave battle

Oh, another thing that I love doing is sewing and making crafts. I use Aranzi Aronzo’s CUTE BOOKS to make things. I really want a sewing machine. I know how to by hand, but it takes a long time..

Are those the CUTE BOOKS that you make the little mascots with? I have one of those I think.
                                                                  I’d love to know how to knit so I could make amigurumis…but I’ve taken a look at the procedure…holy cow…what a nightmare! 0_o;

Cool sounding tattoo! ^_^ My son wants to get a tat or a piercing…I told him when he can afford to pay for his own college fees. That kind of put him in neutral.
Technically I have three tats…but they’re just the needlepoint dots they used to sync up my radiation treatments with. lolz…not real and certainly not anything to look at…but funny to know they basically played connect the dots with my skin on my chest. ^_^
My ribbon is pink….ugh, I can’t tell you how I loathe the color! >.< lmao…..I've had to learn to at least tolerate it.

Good on you for keeping up with your health! There was definitely a genetic link in my family, but I didn’t hear about it until I was diagnosed. It’s all to do with my adoption by my grandparents and stuff…complicated. But needless to say, nobody talked to anybody much in my family.

52 IS certainly too young…I’ll be 47 this year…so 42 was an early age to acquire cancer. This is how they knew it had something to do with my genes. I was determined to be at stage 2B, or something like that. I consider myself blessed to still be here, especially since it apparently had been lurking there for 2 years prior to my surgery, according to my doc. Scary stuff!

Bless you, Buri, you sound very level headed and stable for having gone through all this so recently.

My grandmother was diagnosed 4 years before she passed. My grandfather’s cancer spread through his entire body.. not pleasant.

Sooo.. guess I better collect more bunnies so I have tons of cuteness and fun around

Plus the celebrities bringing attention to it like Lance Armstrong with his LIVESTRONG campaign. I would’ve just wanted to curl up and give up too, but my surgeon told me there was no reason I couldn’t get back to my life after treatment…and she was right.
Sensible lifestyle, sensible diet, etc…these all help. Plus I had my family, friends and faith to rely on, so I was covered. ^_^

I am not really majoring in anything and have come to an agreement with the Dean (who is luckily a longtime family friend) that until I settle on something most of my courses can be any math class I choose as long as I am paying tuition lol. It is nice because most of my classes are either writing or math.

My family thinks I should go into something that deals greatly with math but I like doing math for fun don’t think I would like it if it was something I was forced to everyday.

I have cancer on both sides of my family.. which scares me to death, but I can only live, right?

My grandpa was diagnosed with colon cancer, late stage and it was too late to do anything. He was 82. But he said he lived a long life and was ready to join my grandma…

My uncle on my dad’s side just one day got jaundice (yellowing of the skin) and he underwent surgery. He had hepatitis, but when he was in surgery, liver cancer was found that had spread to the lungs…

This is unfortunate, but I can only watch over myself and keep on laughing and pushing forward. I’m only 22.. people say nothing can happen because I’m young, but I say “Anything can happen.” it’s life, after all

I need to find a good photo of my tattoo.. lol I”ll post it when I find it.

Sonn, it’s funny – I know far more math, chemistry, and physics than your average person since my degree is in chemical engineering. However, I haven’t really used any of that knowledge ,the high school level, in the jobs I’ve had. DH is in a more technical industry so I guess he uses a bit more, but not really. When I think back to some of the things I learned in college, I’m kind of impressed that I was able to learn it, even if I don’t remember any of it only 4-6 years later 😛

I’m not sure what abstract algebra is, but my last class was linear algebra and I hated it. I guess I got so used to doing some form of calculus (differntial equations is basically advanced calc) that it was hard to switch gears. My linear algebra prof was also pretty horrible … though he did look and sound exactly like the actor Wallace Shawn! That was an endless source of amusement to us 😛

I do still like math in general and it’s so nice to talk to someone else who doesn’t think I’m crazy!

eta: Being a vet would be amazing. I’ve seriously considered it as a career path, especially since my college has one of the top vet schools, but I doubt I would be able to get in. It’s so darn competitive!

I had one while I was in middle/high school, but donated her to a therapeutic riding program before I went to college. I knew I wouldn’t have the time to continue riding her regularly nor would I have the $ to keep paying for her board since I’m supporting myself and I have to pay for my tuition/books/apartment/etc. I can’t wait to be done with college/grad school so I can finally get another horse.

I love reading and knitting also, but never have much free time because of school.

I started doing some jumping before I bought my horse, but never did any shows. When I bought my horse, she was only 3 months old, so I had to spend several years raising her and then training her – did it all myself – and by the time we were ready to start more advanced training, I was headed off to college and couldn’t keep her.

When I’m done with school and can own horses again, I want to get into endurance riding, and also barrel racing. And I want to get back into jumping. I’m going to need lots of horsies!!! Or one VERY versatile horse.

                                                                                                Yeah… horses are expensive!

I rode jumpers – I would love love love to get into eventing. Though I may be too chicken for cross country jumping. Funny how when you’re a kid, jumping doesn’t seem scary at all. When I tried to get back into it last year (after maybe 5 years off) everything seemed so much higher! Haha. I would love to do just dressage and jumping, then some nice non-jumping trail rides. I was never into showing either (my parents could only afford lessons) so I just enjoy riding for my own improvement.

I imagine you could do endurance and barrels with the same horse, right? Maybe not at the higher levels, but definitely for fun and local shows. And any athletic horse can jump maybe 3′, so I think you could definitely do it with one horse.

I can’t believe you trained your own horse! Even with all of the years I’ve spent riding, I think that would be way beyond me and my patience level. I would consider getting a 5 or 6 year old though and work on advanced training.

Yeah, it was a LOT of work to train her… I got tips occasionally from the owner of the barn but… pretty much did it on my own. It helped that she’s an incredibly easy-going, willing horse, and we had a good bond since I raised her from a baby. She tried really hard for me, despite my screw-ups, since I was learning as I went.

She turned out fine, obviously… since she was being used as a therapeutic riding horse, teaching handicapped kids how to ride. Unfortunately, she has a problem with her stifles – they lock when they’re not supposed to and cause her to trip and put her in a lot of pain when she’s being ridden. (This developed after she was at the therapeutic riding place.) So they retired her last spring. It was heartbreaking, honestly, she’s turning 8 this year… she’s supposed to be in her prime, and yet, she can’t even carry a rider. I always expected to take her back when they retired her (they give first right of refusal to the donated horses’ owners when the horses retire), but because I’m still in college, I really don’t have the means to support her. She’s at a very nice family’s stable. They have several retired horses from the therapeutic riding program, and allow the horses to just wander in and out of the barn/pastures as they please. She’s there with her best buddy from the riding program, and I know it’s the IDEAL option for her, it’s just sad that I couldn’t take her.

I love all sorts of animals. I hope to have dogs & cats again someday.  But for now it’s just Bun Buns. Luckily, animals really like me back!
I love working out – yea andorphins! Lifting weights, running, hiking.
I like to read. Lately, I have been listening to books on my MP3 Player. It is great, cause I can do other things at the same time like crochet or run. Right now it’s Atlas Shrugged. J is listening to it too. It is nice to be able to discuss the book we are both reading!
How could any one not love listening to storms?
I all so love food & wine – a little to much sometimes.

My poor girl has been out of the loop so long she’s back down at a 5th grade level. >.<

Needle felting is easy & the roving wool is inexpensive.
The needles are quite sharp – I always get my finger a few times. But, the needle is so sharp it only hurts for a second & there is no blood.

Maybe even I could be crafty if I could make bunny stuff!

                                                                                                                                  This is the book:

My Japanese is limited, but it says something along the lines of First Time Felting… It is a needle felting. Poked with the needle and rolled, etc. I heard it is really easy, but I need to watch some videos on Youtube. I learn by visuals

The book has bunnies… and other stuff, but MOSTLY Bunnies! USATAMA, which is Usa (means bunny) and tama (means ball, circle shaped).

Each bunny is different! LOL!! The white bunny on the cover is white.. as you can see and is in an egg carton. Leave it up to the Japanese to make everything so darn cute

It says that she is very cute and does not need to worry about buying things, because people think she is cute, so they will buy her stuff LOL!!!

Besides my extreme rabbit obsession I adore cats and my horse. My horse will be 9 next month. I’ve owned her since she was a foal (got to witness her birth) and did all her training. I ride English and my ultimate goal is to do Saddleseat because it’s in her blood (Mama and Papa did really well in the Morgan show circuit). I’ve been busy getting her (and me!) back into shape since she had a year off due to illness.

I love any and all animals and nature. I love going for a walk in the woods looking at animal tracks and plants. I basically spent my childhood in the forest, it was right behind my backyard. I love being a vegetarian and an animal rights advocate.

I love anything crafty, my faves are cross-stitch and embroidery, reading, Eurepean history (especially anything Tudor related). And I love coffee WAY too much, I pretty much never sleep… When I do manage to sleep, I love dreaming…I record them in a journal. I love fortune telling, anything to do with stones and healing, stuffed animals and Johnny Depp
