as many of you have seen, the linoleum in the bunny pen is stained in some parts with urine. sometimes i miss pee spots because their pen is actually under my bed (my bed is lofted about four feet in the air). the linoleum just drinks it up (sorry for that mental image) and i absolutely cannot get it off!! i’ve resorted to taking a paint/wallpaper scraper and scraping up a top layer of linoleum. this seems totally ridiculous- does anyone have any tips or tricks to get the urine stains off of the floor??

White vinegar is wonderful for cleaning up urine and getting rid of the smell. It breaks down the calcium residue and controls odors. You can dilute it with water so it isn’t overpowering.

          I hope this helps!!

We use Fantastic on it, and a toothbrush if it needs it. Works very well!

If you saturate it with white vinegar and let it sit for a few minutes it will dissolve the build up. I know it stinks but you can go over it with a better smelling cleaner or febreeze the room afterwards or something. :0)

katie, if vinegar doesn’t work, go pick up a bottle of Simple Green. That stuff is awesome, and its non toxic and enviromentally safe too My mom highly recommends it.. its all she uses for her cleaning business..

Make sure your bunnies are in another room! I have been using Odo Ban which is only available at Walmart or Sam’s club in the pet dept.

I was told Simple Green’s fragrance is too strong for bunnies, so yeah, I’d be sure it’s gone before returning them to their habitat.
UNDER your bed? 0_o Wow, I’d have to have a box spring with steel framework to be sure it stayed up and didn’t squish my bunnies! ^_^ I’d guess you have to be very careful getting out of bed in the morning too, so you don’t wind up with a pair of LIVE bunny slippers on your feet! lol….

I usually dilute the simple green, its usually just as efficient diluted, its too strong undiluted except for the toughest stuff.

Please be careful mixing things like that Katie…you know how you’re not supposed to even mix old and new nail polishes because they can put off some toxic smells? 0.o
Even if Simple green is biodegradable, it could have an unexpected effect if mixed with the vinegar.
So now you have 3 bunnies in the dorm? Wow! That must be a handful! ^_^

i live in apartment-style dorms so they aren’t really dorm-like.
