i was just wondering what your bunnies have destroyed. so far julia is the winner. the first night i had her she escaped her pen in the hotel room and ate my phone charger cord and dug a big hole in the hotel wall . then at home she ate the cord to my lamp and now last night she chewed my computer speaker cord in half. (i even had them blocked by nic grids). my dad fixed my phone charger while i was in michigan and im going to tape up my speaker cords, but i had to throw out the lamp and fix the wall in the hotel so no one would notice. jack has chewed up books that i was wrapping up for xmas presents for my kids. he chewed the edges up so fast before i even had time to shoo him away. charlie has chewed the legs of my end tables. im still not sure which one is responsible for chewing holes in my husbands boots. i say my husband is responsible bc he didnt put his boots up out of reach lol. we won’t mention the holey towels and blankets bc they are old and its expected that they will be chewed. i never thought rabbits could be so destructive. they are so cute though that i can’t even be mad at them when they ruin things. what have your rabbits destroyed?
All mine have done is Moose chewed some holes in a towel my hubby had draped over the pen, and Monkey nibbled baseboards when she was a baby. No other destruction as of yet
I have one chew hole in one of my pairs of sweatpants that Mimzy obliged me with. I may never get rid of those pants, even when they are unwearable any longer.
But Pip does chew holes in her pen beds and that really chaps me, since I rotate them between her and Fiver. I am constantly trying to patch them up so they don’t catch a nail in one of the holes. >.<
Oh eyah. Moose chewed holes in the little bed we got him too.. forgot about that, mostly cuz it didn’t last more than 15 minutes lol.
OHhhh lets make a list!
Indiana Jones’ Destructo Master List:
Pulled scroller ball out of Blackberry Pearl phone, probably ate it, chewed buttons – 300$ loss of phone, $-200 for new phone
Bit phone charger in half – $25
Spilled glass of water on keyboard (that I left on my desk) -$50, new one was -$80 (yea I could have gotten a cheaper one but I wanted a nice one lol)
Chewed up pair of jeans -$50
And all I can do is laugh about it because I left it all out!!
This is a competition that mine have a good chance of winning! Yeah
So far:
4 laptop chargers
4 mobile chargers
The mouse button on my laptop
Lots of books
Lots of letters that have been lying around while I’m trying to get myself together to get stamps (people always receive chewed letters from me)
Our two bean bags in the living room have lots of chewing holes
Several plants
5 shoes
2 pair of jeans
The doors in the living room
Oh…and this one my boyfriend doesn’t know about: an official paper about his dad’s death, which he is keeping as a memory of his dad. They went on to the desk and ate their way through all the papers, I’ve hidden the remains of the paper so he won’t find it and get angry. Oops!
What a great idea for a thread! Here’s my list… not everything has been “destroyed” so much as profusely nibbled upon.
So far –
Three sets of headphones (destroyed)
Connector for the Wii sensor (chewed through)
Our only set of sheets (which we still use, tiny holes and all… like hobos)
Several towels
Several T-shirts
A pair of my favorite jammy-pants
Many *many* corners of the carpet
Armrest of our couch (and the fluff underneath)
Pillows of our couch
Fringe of our couch
iPod dock cord
Buttons off of our remote controls
Papers of all shapes, sizes, and types
The baseboards
Our copy of “Dune”… it’s now missing the first 15 pages. Thank goodness I’ve read it before
Wicker chairs and table (we were just asking for it with those)
Desks, Chests, and other wooden furniture
Several Christmas ornaments that I foolishly hung too low
The lease from our previous residence
And the latest… my eyebrows. I was groomed rather forcefully this evening. I was mostly licked, but the eyebrows were too delicious to ignore and got a few tentative nibbles.
Calypso and Echo are good for the most part, but the little nibbles add up over two years:
Baseboards
Door frames
Doors
Chairs
Desk
Laptop power cord
Cable cord
Multiple textbooks, books, dvd boxes
Receipts, papers, bills, letters that one way or another ended up within reach of little teeth
Anything that’s in any closet anywhere in the apartment. I don’t know why, but both my buns LOVE to eat closet stuff
Shoes
Purses
Otto just likes to chew up the edges of the Trivial Pursuit box - my favorite boardgame. Otherwise he hasn’t destroyed anything! We’re pretty good about not putting anything down on the living room floor.
I thought my rabbits were king destroyers by chewing up some moulding upstairs before I had the downstairs re-finished and bunny proofed!
Your making my rabbits look like a shy cat LOL
Ohhh see you guys went all out on all those “tasted” items. I just listed things I couldn’t use anymore hehehe!!
oh my goodness, i couldn’t imagine if MJ destroyed all that stuff. he’d be in big trouble.
so far the only he’s destroyed that he wasn’t supposed to have is a few nibbles on the laptop charger cord and a nibble on the side of the bookshelf (which we quickly corrected). all-in-all, he’s a very good bun. he sticks to his boxes and toys.
i guess i’m lucky!
Destroyed:
A lamp (bit through the cord) even though it was surrounded by NIC grids
3 computer chargers
2 cell phone chargers
2 ethernet cords
Several folders that I had on the bottom shelf of my desk
Carpet in several corners
Tasted:
Chair leg from my BRAND new (at the time) dining room set
Every textbook and almost every novel I own ( I read a lot on the floor)
One of my favorite leather boots
Several high heels
Shoelaces on two pairs of running shoes
My desk
That’s just Leroy in the 7 months I’ve had him So far Jeannie hasn’t done anything naughty! But i’ve only had her for 6 days…
Also… most of the things that Leroy has ruined have been my fault becasue I left them out where he could get to them… So I think this “competition” is really about which bunny parent is the most careless with their stuff hehe. Just saying….
Rofl Barbie! Tasted! I love telling people that Indy just “tastes” my comforter and only “grooms” my clothing :p
oh im sorry i wasnt trying to have a competition lol. i just meant as far as all 4 bunnies in my house that julia has them beat. ive only had her a month too. im hoping i wont be able to add to my list. i thought i bunny proofed pretty well but i guess they have proved other wise. thank god for electrical tape lol. my favorite thing so far is lizzieknittybun’s eyebrow lmao!!! oh, and the buttons on the blackberry bc one of my boys (human) used to chew buttons off of controllers and calculators and all his little toy phones lol. he even pulled keys off of my keyboard.
Rosalie, I didn’t mean anything by that comment, I was just kidding
So far, Mellow hasn’t been too destructive, but he is really, really sneaky when he is chewing something.
Here is his list:
The corners on some textbooks at school (he was studying)
The telephone charger cord
The shirt that I have on right now that he chewed TWO nice size holes in without me even noticing while he was sitting on my lap.
He also likes to get into students’ purses and bookbags and try to “rearrange” the items and taste them while he is doing it. The kids think it is cute and rarely stop him.
Looking at the other lists makes me think we are getting off lucky. The thing of it is, he could be chewing something right in front of me and I don’t even know because he can make it look like he isn’t even looking at the object? Is anyone else’s bun a sneaky chewer?
Sorry looks like I was the first to come up with a list :p It’s fun to see what everyone’s buns like to ruin though hehe. Looks like we all have a lot in common!
Nah, Leroy’s not sneaky at all – at least when it comes to chewing. He’s very defiant about it when he’s out to ruin something Though a lot of times he’ll do it when I’m out of the room…. soo… he’s just practical – he knows I can’t stop him if I’m not there!
Also, I forgot to put on that list:
he’s destroyed my zipper pull on my coat, and taken a decent chunk out of the straps on my backpack on on one of my purses, and I’m currently on my third remote… it’s missing 20 buttons.
Lintini, it IS fun to see what everybun else has destroyed. I just hope the bunnies don’t see this thread and get any ideas..
lol Barbie
“ooh! I never thought about that!” ::munch::
I have *delicious* eyebrows. Ask Momo. nom nom nom.
Ruby her toys
Pandalion 2 towels have holes in them
Cotton….
mouse cord , tv cord, the wires to hook tv to vcr dvd, a whole under the bed box springs, my sleep number bed cord in 4 pieces. , book cover the whole thing, a remote control
tasted
many books
my shirts
Now that he is mature 3 yrs 2/22 he hasn’t chewed anything but book corners and remote buttons if he can get to them.
I’m lucky, So far:
1 ether-net cable
I did notice Kay has started to nibble on the leg of my desk. I made the desk about 12 years ago. The legs are 4×4’s. My cat used one of the legs as a scratching post for many years – barley made a dent in it.
I just told Kay to go right ahead and nibble!! I reckon it will be fun to see how long it takes her to get through the leg.
I can see a trend of the free-range buns leading this destruction race.
Baseboards. They all nom on baseboards.
Otto has only not destroyed anything because he’s too chicken to leave the rug in the living room. 😛 His only options for chewing are the things we leave on the shelf under the coffee table – he can’t reach anything else unless he gets brave and goes onto the hardwood. He doesn’t dig at the rug, but the one time he went upstairs he was digging like crazy at that carpet.
He has taken a nip at the coffee table itself once or twice, but usually only when I take away the magazine he’s swiped – like if I won’t let him chew the magazine then he’s gonna take a bite out of the table. Haha. I don’t think he’s even left marks though.
Well lets see I have had bunnies for a little over a year
7 tv remotes
3 xbox controllers
My mattress
tv cord
4 lamps
peed on a brand new computer (sizzle sizzle bye bye puter)
Ceiling fan from hay
My sanity (
my dogs plastic carrier
laptop cord
shirts
pants
LOL
lmao @ Lizzie…
EYEBROWS??? 0_o
Jeez, I wish I had that as an excuse for where mine have gone…unfortunately I plucked them into oblivion when I was 16…until then I had Brooke Shields’ unibrow.
As far as sneaky, yup…Mimzy is the Wee Ninja Bun, he tends to leave little blessings on my bed just outside of where I put the puppy pad, just to show me how bad he is.
(new theme song, Michael Jackson’s ‘Bad’ plays….)
And Fiver almost managed to chew off the lid to my new DSi the other night, just because I wasn’t paying attention…sly dog that he is.
ROFL ^
everybunny is so bad…. but peeing on computer is the meanest
Oh wow! This thread made me laugh so hard, I’m glad I wasn’t alone! Flopsy chewed/destroyed so much when I had him. He was worth it though
Chewed (aka tasted)….
My history textbook.
My script for the play ( I DID play a bunny though, so really he was helping)
Multiple books
flipflops
My school binders
Homework
Mom’s speakers for her computer
Buttons of my cell phone
Chair legs.
My floor in my room
Multple clothing items ( some that were not mine. Opps)
Destroyed…
3 cell phone chargers
my moms computer charger
Countless rolls of paper-towels,toliet paper, & a box of tampons!
A hole in the wall ( we had to patch it up. Mom was mad. Opps)
Makeup! He got into my bag of makeup. Needless to say his teeth were very colerful & we had to take an unexpected trip to the vet.
My sheets.
Speakers for my computer.
Keyboard for my computer
My webcam for my computer ( I think he hated my computer).
oh you know, after reading this a few times i remembered the funniest thing MJ destroyed – i leave the junk mail on the coffee table and he sometimes helps himself to it by craning upward and yanking a yummy piece down for some fun destruction time. well one day i accidentally left a job application on the coffee table. went into the kitchen for a moment and came back to find it shredded. apparently he didn’t want me getting a job! lol! he’d rather me stay home between classes and spend all my time with him. what a selfish bun.. haha!
the bag of makeup is hilarious, sassy. i can totally picture it. when i originally posted to this thread i was rather impressed because i couldn’t remember anything MJ had destroyed, but i guess i was conveniently forgetting the tube of PAINT he bit into. -palmface- he had blue ALLLLL in his mouth. i was so worried about him eating it, but it didn’t seem to bother him. i don’t think he ingested much at all.
bunnies just wanna tap into their creative side, that’s all!
1 and a half Macbook Pro chargers ($160) – I say half because afterwards gizmo taught the puppy that it was tasty..
10 Towels – These are the ones totally demolished not just “tasted”
2 Pairs of daddy’s work pants
3 of mommy’s sweaters
1 Hairbrush
and most recently a nice reclining sofa and loveseat from lazyboy whom apparently didn’t deserve fluff in the cushions, nor any wood frame underneath..
not to mention by now there would be an entire willow tree destroyed via bunny toys and several acres of Hay fields!
She also loves to pluck out daddy’s facial hair but that grows back!

hey, I was wondering how Julia was doing?
petzy, she is doing good. i havent done much bonding though. she was doing pretty good in the laundry basket with jack and i had put them in the tub once. ive just been lazy about it. seems like its going to be a lot easier to bond zoey with jack and charlie once she is spayed. julia will surely give me a challenge. she is very nippy with the others. she is still very shy around me while she is out of her pen, but lets me pet her sometimes while she is inside. she is definitely territorial. i still get growled at if i mess with her stuff. im learning how to read her a lot more. i can tell now when she is not happy with me by her body language so that will help me with the bonding. thanks for asking about her! i havent been on here so much the past few days. hope u and your bun family are doing good.

I’m glad to hear she is warming up to you. I was just wondering how she was settling in.
