thanks for the welcome everyone! just had my bunny at the vet today for a checkup. its still too young to tell if its a boy or a girl, but the vet thinks girl (thats what i think too). we go back in 8wks for a follow-up. she is settling in her new house just fine. as for her name, its part of a dave matthews band song title. the full title is pantala naga pampa. besides my bunny, hubby & i have 5 birds (2 parakeets, a quaker parrot, a rose breasted cockatoo & a cockatiel) and a chinchilla. i'm an animal lover, if you havent guessed! :oP i work full time at a public library, and i'm also taking classses to become a vet tech. i always wanted to work with animals since i was a kid. |

I love her ears! I wonder if they'll lop? They kind of have that half-loppy look about them. |

Welcome! What a lovely bunny. You sound like a great mom already, with a trip to the vet right away. Actually, you remind me of my own vet since she sees only exotics, and specializes in birds along with rabbits, chinchillas, hedgehogs, etc. etc. Karla, we have lots of chinchilla, ferret, fish, dog and cat owners with our without bunnies so don't hesitate to post in the Lounge if you have any questions or stories to share. |

Have your people call my people. We'll do carrots. |

chinchillas arent bad at all. they're nocturnal, but can adapt to be up more in the day. feeding is easy - they eat pellets and hay. and of course they need fresh water. they cant get wet, and instead they take dust baths. its fun to watch them roll around in the dust! |
